About 20 minutes to install...you just have to remove the trunk lid lining on the inside. I don't have a backup camera...

Bought mine last week. Easy install. Put then on my 06tsx and RL. Just pull the trunk liner down, just enough to get to the sockets. Very easy to do, and the bulbs looks nice and will not flicker.

Just light bulbs. One LED to be exact. Just plug and play

They look real, but I thought that LEDs are susceptible to breaking down alot or so I have read from people who replaced with LEDs in the license plate lights

Not the new single super whites. These are much different than the LED's that are grouped together.

How long have you been running with these?
Anyone else, I figure that would be easier than actually doing the Cold Cathode DIY that i was debating on

i had a set of multiple LED, very similar if not the same as tech toyz, and they do eventually run into problems and will flicker.
i replaced them with PIAA 2-led's and have been running them for about 5 months no probs. the tech-toyz lasted 1.5 month.

Are they similar to the Lexus IS whiteness? And how bright are they?

The lights in question...

Here's a pic of the LEDs on my TSX. I have received many compliments on them! It honestly took 15 minutes to install them ...

I dont see anything special, as Tectoyz boasts that its new, besides it being higher wattage LED, still probably run into flickering issues too.

I also have the Plate LEDs from Tec Toyz had them since July and no problems yet.. to answer this question, I think they actually use the LEDs or Cold Cathodes.. if my LEDs ever get problematic, I'm going to go with the Cold Cathode setup.

They aren't. They shine straight down so the middle part of the license plate is not lit. Cold Cathodes are better for this over the LEDs.

agreed - I don't know what Lexus uses but white cathode looked closest.

On my cars the whole tag plate is lit. They look fantastic to me. On the Cathode, they do no last. Oil change is enough, I do want to change the cathode at 3K intervals. The new LED are set it and forget it.

They seem to be lasting per others. Mine have been on for 2 months I believe now maybe more. Kracker had his for 6 months or more without a problem. Cold Cathodes last just fine. Longer than the LED's have been proving lately.

I ordered mine about an hour ago. Anyone have a suggestion on what the best "home" tool would be to pull the pins from the trunk liner. I was using a flathead but didn't want to just pull from one side. I know there's a tool you can buy, but any other suggestions would be appreciated. I was having a little bit of a struggle trying to pry one of the pins out but decided to give up since I didn't need to worry about it until the bulbs come in.

Thanks for the tips. I tried using my finger nails as another member posted but no good. I'll use an old credit card for the job, thanks!

I installed the lights and like some have stated they don't illuminate the entire tag but it does a good job and as long as they don't flicker I'm fine with that. The lights do look cool and the slight blue hue on the alabaster silver metallic looks sweet.
