VTEC Controller Anybody???
Hey guyz,
Just curious if a Vtec contoller would be possible in our cars. I have also a 2001 Prelude and the hp gain were very good. I didn't know since it was such a new car, was it possible to hook one of those up to this car as well??
Thanks!

I went with Injen and am happy. I think the AEM claims are farfetched. If I'm wrong, I'll happily eat my words and buy one.

The apex'i VAFC-II is non-compatible from my viewing experience. I attempted to have the converter installed in my 04 TL at Hondaworks in Charlotte, NC and it was a failure. Due to the drive by wire throttle system, the throttle position sensor(TPS) was the first obstacle the technicians came across. Next, the absence of a main distributor became a problem. The engine has 6 individual coils unlike rather than a main distributor. A third problem arose within the tachometer. He mentioned something about a 'multi-plex'...? Basically, once the VAFC-II was wired the display on the screen was visible, but it was getting an incorrect reading as far as the RPM's were concerned. VTEC was engaging while the car was in idle. NOT GOOD. The sound was a loud pop/tick. The technicians worked for a solid 12 hours total and agreed it was non-compatible. The 2004 TL may simply be too complicated in the electrical department to toy with the ECU.
