VSA question !!
Hi Guys!
I have a 2008 base Acura TL. I was just experimenting with the VSA control and this is what i found,
when i have the VSA turned ON ( no light in the dash) the car accelerates slower but more smoothly ( this is shifting gear urself, 40 mph in first gear 6 rpm, 2nd took it up to 60 at 6 rpm and switched to 3rd), also the tires sometimes squeal when i floor it.
However, when i have the VSA turned off ( yellow triangle in dash). The car accelerates much faster ( i didnt time it but went to 50 mph in first gear with rpm at 6, and went to 70 in second at 5 rpm. didnt test it beyond that speed) , but even when flooring it from stand still there is no tire squealing or tire burn.
Is that how its supposed to be ???
cause i always thought VSA is what helps you not burn your tires out when accelerating hard.
Also is the cars handling supposed to be different in both modes, when pushing it to the same point ?
cause it seemed to handle better with the VSA off.
and what are the disadvantages of having the VSA system off ???
thanks in advance

VSA is only there so you don't lose control, spin out, and die.
I turn it off when I go on mountain runs, but ONLY because I've learned and respected my car's limits.
Until you're used to what you're car can and cannot do, leave it on.
