VSA and power

Okay, so I searched the threads for this, but I didn't find a specific answer.

Do any of you guys with Auto tranny find that the car feels more powerful when VSA is turned off? I turned it off the other day, and it seems like the throttle response is better and the engine revs more freely. It also kicks down to a lower gear when you're already rolling vs. when VSA is on it doesn't kick down to the lowest gear.

The threads mention that VSA does modulate power to assist in controlling yaw rate, but what about straight line acceleration? It feels more powerful to me.

This is true. It has been discussed before that when you are trying to race, or are in a hurry, to turn the VSA off to utilize the full torque/hp of the engine.

The MT doesn't have this same issue. There is something in the ATs that people remove that makes the VSA respond more like that of the MT. There is a thread out there on this process. Problem with that thread is that it is written up in such a way that the person makes it sound like they are removing the VSA.

The VSA in the 6MT pulls power from the top of first & second gears because of torque steer & clutch issues.

Also the software is poor causing the limited slip differential & the VSA fight with each other when the wheels slip on the 6spd.

yes vsa keeps the car very well balanced at high speeds but reduces power when its off you utilizing almost all of your power but without balance.
