VSA ON or OFF

I have seen this topic on other threads and it was interesting. When driving, do you turn off VSA or leave it on. I know it's better to have it off when racing, but when i'm just driving here or there...the car feels slow when the VSA is on. I'm thinking about turning it off all the time when I drive now, car runs much better when VSA is off. (* I leave it on when driving it in the snow though, since it tells when the car is skidding*) Does anyone turn it off all the time ?

One day those crazy electronics might be the only thing that keeps your TL from becoming one with a tree.

I'm pretty sure VSA doesn't slow your car down in normal situations it's just in your head.

If I want to spin some tires, I'll keep it off for a short time but otherwise I leave it on.

I think there is a big difference especially when you press on the gas. When VSA is "OFF" the wheels spin quicker and you don't have to press on the gas pedal as much as when it's turned on.

Thanks for the welcome " princelybug "

VSA is basically distributing power to your front wheels inorder to keep ur car steady straight on the road....

condition 1> at a stand still when u hit the gas.....
VSA ON: your car wont spin as much
VSA OFF: you can spin your way to glory
condition 2> suppose your in snow
VSA ON: the rev meter hits at 2K rpm and you cant gas your car anymore as the car is detecting a slip, but it wont get you out of that snow
VSA OFF: you can gas your car till 5K rpm where the rev meter takes over....

so well if am in snow and stuck, I turn the VSA off and get the extra spin to come out of the snow....and I turn my VSA back ON

if ur racing, do u really want to spin ur tires or take off ??? u make the choice

Keep it ON. Only time to turn it off is when you're already stuck in snow and need to rock back and forth. Otherwise, drive with it on. Most if not all of the people are not that good of a driver as they think they are.

lol I dunno if I should laught from the stupidity or feel sorry for his TL when it get damaged because mr hotshot thinks he can outbrake and out handle the VSA system.........

for normal drivers you leave it on unless you are trying to get the car unstuck.....

always leave it on the car stays balanced and on the ground when its on... the computer has better control of the transmission and engine when it needs....it does slow it down because of the constant monitoring n control its applying....but it lets u haul ass in fast situations....if u tried hauling ass with it off in a bumpy situation you would be allllll over the road....trust me ive experienced it...not on purpose.... i was just getting on the higway normally and i hit a bump im used to hitting and the car was all over the place so i look down and go wtf is with that?! i noticed the vsa was off i prob hit it adjustiung my mirrors....i hit the button to turn it on again and it felt like it was in control.....off when u wanna beat up ur tires n burn a lil rubber off of the streets and on when you're driving....VSA is all safety.

On

I've driven through 2 of the worst chicago winters we've had in the past 20 years. Leaving VSA "on", I have not gotten stuck once. Turning it off just spins the tires more.

There's a reason that VSA light is so annoying when you turn it off.... it's acura telling you, "leave me on"

I usually leave my VSA on at all times. One time it was raining and I gave the car a good amount of throttle (3/4 peddle) at a light and as I hit 20 mph the road had several bumps in front of me and I definitely felt the car starting to lose traction. VSA light started to flicker and it seemed like the car adjusted itself and straightened out as well as removed the wheel hop/torque steer. I was thoroughly impressed.

i leave mine on... 1 i cant stand that damn yellow triangle lookin at me from the dash... and 2, its default is on, everytime u turn the car off and then turn it back on the VSA resets back to on, so i just figure y bother, im not racing anyone and if i am VSA is def not going to be the cause of me losing the race

Why you do not buy LOTUS ELISE . This car comes without a traction control ( it is an option) and it is a lot more fun to drive than TL

I did hear the Elise is the car most commonly cross shopped by potential TL buyers.
