After reading the vsa on/off articles I switched it off for a sunday morning ride in the country and I thought I noticed a difference. I don't think I ever went over 4k (i have a 6mt). Was it just wishful feeling or did it feel different?

You may have felt a difference when hitting the gas...??? there was a thread about this earlier... search.. .ill try to find it

No. What he means is that when disabled, the engine is allowed to deliver uninterrupted power to the drive wheels. I started a thread on this a little over a week ago because I did some simple "tests" with both on and off settings.
