Voice Command for Temperature

Picked up my new 04 TL (LOVE IT!!), SSM/Nav/AT. I"ve got a question for you voice command pros: When I say "temperature up", the temperature gets set to 80. When I say "temperature down", the temperature gets set to 60. Is this normal? The manual seems non-specific about what the results are from these commands.

This car is FUN!!

But does saying "temperature down" result in a setting of 60 or "temperature up" a setting of 80?

I saw no reference in the manual to the result from giving those commands. I just want to make sure that the thing is working the way it should.

Temperature Max also gives 80 as does Temperature Minimum give you 60, they must have alternate comand paths that are not published, I know I found alternates to some others.

It makes sense as these are the high and low settings if you push the buttons.

Reminds me of a Star Trek movie where Mr. Scott can't believe he has to use buttons on the computer.

When I tell the car temperature up it raises it one degree at a time. Same for temperature down.

Hmm, then mine is not doing that. I would have thought that's the way it should do it, one degree at a time.

O.K., maybe I didn't give precisely the correct command, but this morning on the way to work, it worked perfectly. Just as GSD98 said, it raised or lowered the temp by one degree increments. What a GREAT car!! I'm also happy to report that I've had no issues with the tires in my brief stint with the car.

Sometimes noise or the way you say something will confuse the system and it will try the nearest thing it thinks it is and do something strange. I said "Set temperature 20 (celcius) and it said "It's 9:34". I don'k know what that is close to.

I haven't had any tire issues either in my brief stint of seven months.

You mean Start Trek IV, the one where he hold's the mouse of the 1st Apple Mac in his hand and says "Computer, Oh Computer", then responds with a snurdy "How Quaint" after he's told to use the keyboard?

XM UP and XM DOWN do the same thing for XM as TEMP UP/DOWN does for the temp. It's a nice command because turning the tuning wheel just enough to go up or down one XM station can be a pain.

Heh heh heh... guess it thought "20 celcius" was "what time is it?" Mine loves setting the fan speed when it doesn't understand what I'm saying.
