VIN # Question

I'm finally expecting my Anthracite/Quartz 6spd/Navi on May 15th. I found a few threads on VIN numbers and I can "decode" my VIN number. My question is about the serial number: 19UUA65505A053XXX
I don't see how it's possible for my TL, with a build date of May 6th to have a serial number in the 53 thousands. Does this only include 6 spds? Do the serial numbers start over each model year?

Acura, since Oct. 04, apparently has sold 44k 3GTLs (some 04' + '05)... so, if your brand new car is gonna build next week and ship to your dealership two weeks after, 53xxx seems possible. IMO.

Our '05 AM/Eb delivered last Monday (May 2) was #050067. "Fresh off the truck" to NJ, built in mid-April.

(And if you read the "colors" threads, just about every delivery truck loaded with TLs has one AM/Eb, but only about 1 truck in 5 has a Desert Mist. :-)

AM is very popular. However I'm a monotone type of guy...

NBP - very nice choice, looks great on the TL, just too difficult to keep clean
SSM - nice as well, just too common of a color for all cars in general
WDP - in Florida it seems 50% of cars are white
AM - always loved dark gray metallics, was originally planning on getting an Altima in a similar color

Thanks for the input guys. My serial number is actually 0539XX. Seems like a pretty big difference for just a few weeks.

Yes, I agree.

Mine is 0376xx and it was built at the end of Feb'05. Can they built over 16,000 TLs in 2 1/2 months? This implies a TL production rate of 200+ per day.
