Quick question on VIN number availability on cars that are supposed to arrive from the Factory. I finally found a 6-sp/Nav Blue with Quartz interior that is supposed to arrive at NJ dealer. Dealer says the car is due in on the 20th of July from the factory. However, they don't have a VIN number yet. Dealer says that when the car arrives, there will be only a few miles on it. It's not that I don't trust the dealer, it's just that I'd like to make sure they are not trying to pull anything over on me (bait/switch). When people received vehicle information on cars arriving from the factory, when was the dealer able to provide a VIN number??

I ended up order the exact same car last year (2005 MY) and it took almost 4 months to get it (end of May to mid-September).

They didn't have a VIN for me until the week before it was delivered.

 

yeah I don't think I had a VIN either when I ordered mine from the factory. no big deal, I don't think.
