The only way I could think of confirming this, without calling a dealer, would be to search their inventory and see what their latest VIN is off of their website.

Ed Martin is the Indy dealership I'm working with. Some others are Superior Acura in Cincy and Continental Acura in Chicago.

Why? Want to work a two car special?

Just got a call minutes ago from my dealership and the ending VIN nbr for my Anthracite/Ebony/AT/Nav is 15924. I believe the build date was Nov 28/29. I should be able to pick it up tomorrow after they add the tint. I'm going over there tonight and lick the handle.

16,000 in two months, wow, at that rate they are going to be well over 60,000 a year, almost 100k.

They are really pumping those out!

btw, mine is built 9/26, vin in 1,600's

Great question, Nicki

Just a guess, but let's see.

15,924 was rolling off on 11/29.
Figure Acura ramped up the line around 9/8 for initial drop-ships to make a launch date of 10/6.
That means they've been running 9 weeks.

So around 1,775/week -or- 250/day -or- 10/hour

But, due to the lack of Navi parts, the production should be reduced a little bit.

Mine was born 10/12 with #4608.

Picked up Friday last week ,think the vin is 122041 , they started building my car Nov, 13 .

The big factory sticker had my name on it ...when you order a car ,do they put your name on that sticker... I never saw it tillmy brother pointed it out.

They aren't producing fewer vehicles than they planned--the demand mix wasn't what they forecast. This is why many places you can find discounts on in-stock non-navis.

The vin number is based on the built date, not on the delivery date to the dealer. The cars sit at the boat docks for a while at times, and aren't always delivered in order. The car I purchased had a build date of early September and it didn't arrive to my dealer until November.

I understand your point, but the Non-Navi will be full of house soon if Acura converts all the produciton lines for Non-Navi models. What I'm going to say is Acura seems unble to manufacture the certain amount of Navi models due to the shortage of Navi parts. If the production lines haven't been reduced, they soon would have enough Non-Navi for the next whole year.

This also involves the discount issue as you've described. More Non-Navi will mean more discount for customers. I'm not sure if that's Acura's alternative strategy to sell more cars.

If you ask, your sale guy should be able to find it from their computer.

I pre-ordered mine, so I picked up from their allocation list, which tells you when your car builds, what VIN is, and when it may arrive to your dealership, etc.

There aren't many boat docks in Ohio, where the car is manufactured, Gregory......

"Ports" is the term I should've used. Baltimore is a popular spot for large quantities of Acuras to be delivered. From there they sit, then get distributed to dealers. I'm sure my car arrived by truck from Ohio. New Jersey has Port Elizabeth and Port Newark which is where many imported cars are delivered initially prior to delivery to dealers.

Mine came in on 11/26 with vin #12974. This was a dealer swap, so I don't know if that affected the delivery date..

Talking 21xxx seems about right.

Mine was picked up on the 19th and has a VIN of 14467 so the 21xxx sounds about right for current models coming off the trucks. The 12xxx & 14xxx's have to be dealer stock from last month from the looks of it. Man, that's a lot of cars. Guess we will have to get used to seeing lots of them on the road in the near future.

I picked up mine on 1/4/04. VIN 210XX. Anthracite/Ebony + Navi 5AT. Had a rattle in the steering wheel but it was just the horn assembly. Have slight rattle in the passenger side door but I haven't been able to duplicate it regularly for the dealer.

Since need4spd said probably TLs prior to 12xxx would have check-engine-light issue, I don't say it's for sure. You can try to rev your engine at 5k RPM for 5 second, then you will know if you have this early-built common problem.

I'm driving a lot among Manhattan, Queens, and LI. You should get better and staight roads in where you're. Enjoy.

Your vibration seems pretty normal, you should be fine...
