If the car is built already than the VIN# should be availabe right? If the car is going to be delivered by the end of April the VIN# should also be available right?

DEFINITELY!!! As soon as car is done being built (if not sooner) VIN# is available. And so is delivery date.

Here are some managers I found on their website -

Talk to one of them. There is no reason why they can't find out info for you if a car was ordered.

Also, if car has been built, it should be on it's way and they are able to locate where it's at thru their database.

 

By the way, my dealer has been giving me one date of delivery after another(4/7, 4/8, 4/13, 4/14). Manager did tell me on Monday that car was in Ridgefield, NJ. That's a railroad auto terminal where they are transported onto trailers (I found out on my own). He had told me it was suppose to be delivered on 4/13 and then yesterday told me 4/14 and didn't know why delay. Well today I called terminal in Ridgefield. They told me the trucking company - Allied would have the info. I found their website and sent an email asking if they had any info. They wrote back asking for the VIN# which I sent her.
She replied that the car was dispatched this morning for delivery. That they didn't gain possession of the vehicle from the Manufacturer until
yesterday. That dealer should have car today. So now I'm just waiting to hear from them.

 

I just called Thomas Wang but he's in a meeting right now.
I also called the sales manager of Ramsey Acura yesterday. He did say that the car's were at Ridgefield, NJ. But those cars are already committed for. He did say that he keeps the customer's that order their TL's updated. If Montclaire Acura still doesn't know anything, i'm gonna go to Ramsey Acura instead.

 

Park Ave. Acura also has a good report. I had talked to a Mano G. there recently who was very helpful and nice.

Mano was very nice. He in fact had on the lot the car I was looking for 2 wks ago - black/ebony 6mt/navi. He did sell it of course. He had been willing to give it to me for less than I'm paying now. He said he sold it for $32,000.

 

You are supposed to know VIN info if dealers already make decisions how to deploy their new-built cars to customers...

Also, usually, VIN could be acquired prior to its production date. If supplies, labors, and production lines are fine, dealers may even know VINs after carmakers agree dealers' proposal of pre-order lists months ago.

 

Good News! Just got a call. Car is in. Picking it up this afternoon

Found out this morning mine is scheduled to leave the factory 1 week from today.
Only 15 Green/Camel/6MT/Navi's are being built for the entire country this month.

 

Nice color combo. My SSEI is that color combo. That's why I went with the black/ebony this time.

 

No VIN# yet. Sales manager said that VIN# should be available a few days before production.

 

Yeah, mine was available during build dates and also got a estimated delivery date.

Ordered on Jan 31st. Dealer clalms they ordered it on their Jan 20th monthly requisition since they expected my deal to go through. They of course tried to get one sooner and apparently only 1 was made in March. When they tried to find out which dealer it was going to, they discovered it was special ordered by Acura Corporate sales. Therefore, it has to be the one on display (with added A-SPEC) at the NY Auto Show whose VIN# is in the 33000's, early March. Imagine THAT VERY CAR was supposed to/could have been mine!!!
