no gains, just preventative maintenance for a smooth running engine for years to come, is my understanding.

Your tension or idler pulley, likely...that is what went on mine...

The scary part is the exhaust valves getting tight over time. If they become too tight, you will eventually burn a valve. When that happens, it's expensive to fix.

So did I. It just didn't make sense that the valves would get tighter over time in my head. One would think they just wear away over time causing the clearance to grow. I still don't understand it. Probably the extreme heat of the exhaust causing the adjusters to shift or change shape. Oh well.
