valley stream acura

has anyone purchased their car from valley stream acura, and if so, what is you opinion of the dealership. I was recently in there and got a good quote on a wdp/parchment/non-navi, although i am thinking about getting nbp/camel/navi instead. Any input about the dealer though?

Thanks

They gave me a little higher price than I had wanted but they were nice to me. As for searvices, they are alright. I bought it from there because the other dealers I went to weren't as welcoming. Maybe they thought I was poor or didnt really want to buy

oh btw, i got a 03 TL-S not an 04 TL from there.

Try Island Acura in Wantagh. They were much better as far as taking care of the customer and the price was considerably better.

They also have the second highest rated service department. Might be the 2nd in the USA or State, I'm not sure which. They will probably beat the price from Valley Stream for you.

Good luck

I bought from them. Very good sales dept. however service dept. leaves alot to be desired. I
am not even going to get into details, let's just say they are the most pleasant the most incompetent people you will ever have the pleasure of dealing with.

The Island Acura sales dept. is made up of a bunch of a**holes who assume you are an idiot
the minute you walk into the showroom. Not only did they not try to beat the quote from Valley Stream they actually laughed in my face for even suggesting such a low price. Nothing but a bunch of snobs.

I just picked up my car from Acura of Valley Stream.

I dealt with Joe Ferrara. He seemed nice enough, gave me the price I wanted to hear, and had the car when he said he'd have it. I ordered the car (which was an "incoming" car) on 6/4. Joe said it was shipping on 6/9 and I'd have it roughly two weeks later. I picked it up on 6/25.

My 5spd/Navi car cost $33K plus the body side mouldings, splash guards, and door edge guards (another $400 or so).

My first contact was with Island Acura's "Internet Sales Manager". He met my price after one round of haggling, but I didn't like his attitude. Joe at A/VS was easy to deal with and pleasant.

Good luck no matter where you go.

I live in the area and visited the dealership. If all things were equal, I would have purchased there. I had a good price from Southern NJ (not Turnersville), and asked them to match or even get close. They quickly said no way. They were somewhat rude in the process. I ended up buying in Southern NJ. Even though I'm closer to Valley Stream, than Island Acura in Wantagh, I will probably get service at Island. One thing on their side is that they let you test drive without a salesman.

As I stated in a previous comment in this thread, I too dealt with Joe Ferrara. He seemed nice enough and delivered what he promised when he promised it. I couldn't ask for more than that. Granted, he didn't have to work too hard at the sale since I walked in knowing exactly what I wanted and he'd already quoted me the price I wanted to hear.

All in all I recommend the dealership and Joe.

Good luck!

I got my WDP non Navi from Hillside Acura for that price (30,300) and the destination was INCLUDED. Rallye Acura also quoted me the same price as well as Paragon (EEK).

Since you live in Long Island, try Smithtown Acura. Ask for Greg. He's the Internet guy and a real nice salesman. They also let you take a test ride without a salesman. I bought my 2002 TL-S from Greg and it was a very nice experience. I plan to buy a 2005 TL or RL and I will be giving them a fair shot to get my business.

Rich was my salesperson when he leased me the RSX-S. I'm planning to negotiate soon....just wondering from the people that bought from Rich, how much are you getting it for and what type of vehicle. 33k is my goal w/ destination.

I picked up my 04TL from Acura of Valley Stream yesterday. After I signed over my honda trade in & after I signed all the paperwork, they told me they did NOT have an accessory item that I ordered & paid to have put on the car. Acura of Valley Stream then gave me what they call a "we owe". They could not tell me when this item was coming in only that it was backordered. The "we owe" they gave me expires in 30 days! So here I am today, the day after I paid in full for my car and everything I ordered on it without getting everything I paid for. Very dissapointed in their sales tactics. Be very careful with them!!

What do you mean it expires in 30 days? Do you get your money back then or do they just keep it? Who did you deal with?

Here is my story. I had full plans to buy from Valley Stream. I can't remember the name but he was the internet sales specialist. He undercut Islands lowest price from the month before which had a lower residual than the current month making the new programs payment $6 higher a month. He undercut this price by a few dollars. He first said he could get my color combo then he couldn't. Other dealers do not like to trade with them is what I later found out b/c the color combo I wanted WAS availabe which he said was not only b/c he couldn't get anyone to trade with him. I told him I would give him a deposit in return for a VIN#. He responded by telling me he needed a $1,000.00 NON-Refundable deposit to get a car :sqntfawk: I told him forget it. As I thought about it, he probably sold himself too low and couldn't get the general manager to agree on the price so this was his way of backing out without telling me he f*cked up. I later learned this is a tactic that is used and usually works. I had the MOST pleasurable buying experience of my life from Island Acura. Their original price was the lowest I got anywhere, Smithtown and Rallye couldn't come close. Dave Hoffman is a pleasure to work with and everything was no hassle and enjoyable. Doug

It says on the bottom of the "we owe" document that it expires in 30 days. My salesman is Rich. I have a call into the General Manager, but Rich spoke to the parts manager & nobody can say when it's coming in. They tell me not to worry about the 30 days but if i don't have to worry about it then why does it say it expires in 30 days?

I went to Island Acura to look, it's far from where I live so I really could not buy from them but I found their sales staff to be the most professional of any dealer I went to.

THIS DEALERSHIP IS TERRIBLE !

The sales rep told me everything i wantd to hear inorder to get my deposit on a car even though i had a deposit elsewhere that the deal was going soar..in the end the first deposit with car deal went through and valley stream declined to give me back my deposit even though the same day i gave it to them i cancelled the order with them..i was advised to call manger anthony salafeno...so i called hundreds of times and he never had the decentesy to call back....lucky i live so far away to make a trip there... I would never recommend doing business with that place..and my cousin got a car from there brand new and they tryed to rush one off on him with ripped leather...make sure u analyze the car before u purchse from them

stay clear of valley stream.....they give u all the lines of bullshit to make a deal...especially put down other dealerships...a good dealership doesnt put down another they prove themselves my customer satisfaction or thier words and valley stream had neither ... so F^&* them !

I was just curious because I got quotes from both Island and Valley Stream and VS would not beat or meet Island's quote on the non navi.

Can the people that purchased the TL w/ NAVI tell me the prices that you guys got for both Valley stream and/or Island. These are the only 2 dealerships that I will deal with in the NYC metro area cause Paragon and brooklyn sucks.

Got a call back from the salesman today. Said he could have the item in 2 weeks or he would give me a refund. This sounds likea fair solution. At least now, I have a time frame to resolve the issue.

I told the salesman, Rich, to have the GM call me back. Rich called me back & now said I would have the body moulding I ordered with the car in 2 weeks or they would give me a refund. Now I have a time frame to work with and this is an acceptable solution. Yesterday, when I picked up the car, they told me they had no idea when it would be coming in.
