I've been using them as DRLs in my fogs since July. No problems with them. They are brighter than any other LEDs you'll buy but they can't compare to a real halogen or HID in terms of output. It's more for looks. You'll have to trade off the light output for color.

If you do that... you should remove the center cutoff shield of the fog lens when you clear your headlights. That'll give a lot more output.
