Looks nice. I cant wait till i get mine going. btw, it seems as if everyone except me got their harness replaced by vleds but me. i called them and they said ok yes we will replace the harness and when i check the mail, all i got was a new relay. Original relay was always working, thats not the issue. Could it be that the wires connecting to relay itself were not placed in correct order?? Not sure. Any suggestions?

I've sat on this and now that the reliability issues have been cleared up I'm wanting to buy. The original link doesn't work anymore but most (?) of the individual parts seem to be available on the vleds site, except for the module with the resistor. Anyone have a list of exactly what is needed or is the all-parts-that-are-needed kit still available?
I really think that LED look is sweet and I'm trying to resist my car with the audi/bmw look of LEDs. I think put the LEDs in the stock location might be the ticket.
TIA

I just used double-sided tape to mount the resistors.

When I was looking, you couldn't get there by searching so maybe you didn't miss it. I also went with 6K and I wish that I would have gone with 5K. Not that it looks any bit bad, just a little blue. I did the double sided tape on the driver's side, there's a good place on the passenger's side to mount the plate, I think the instructions even tell you where for that one.

I bought and installed the new V-LED's DRL kit with harness/resistors this weekend and it worked perfectly. SO NICE! I will post pics of where I mounted the drivers side resistor plate. I already had the bumper off so I mounted it right under where withe drivers side headlight housing is on a piece of metal with 3M VHB tape and 2 tie wraps. Its not goin anywhere!

finally got mine all dialed in....
i bought a set of the lights like 2 years ago at that time they said to use two of the plug and play modules which did not work only one light came on and my DRL warning light was on.... then they had me buy some otehr harness they said would work.... half the time barely any light was on and the other half no light go figure... finally i have been seing this thread and irritated at the fact i spent so much $ and my DRL's were not even on... so contacted vleds told them i am not buying a entire setup for $99 just want the harness because all of this back and forth and $ i had spent previously on other setup of harnesses... so they broke out a harness sent it and took me like 20 mins to hook up .... luckily this one works perfectly or id be an angry mo fo

Damn it...I think my DRL's are starting to flicker. I hope it was just a freak thing. I've only had them (V-LED DRL) for two months
It would really suck if these thing have to be replaced every few months. They're damn expensive.

^ where did u place the resistors? they start to flicker when it heats up.. u need to place it where if can stay cool.. I have it screwed to the frame (metal) so it stays cool or atleast transport the heat to the metal.
#217
I used 3M double-sided tape and stuck it pretty exactly where V-LEDS recommended it should go. The flickering occurred on my way to work. I noticed it when I parked in a garage in the Manhattan.
UPDATE: I checked the lights when I got home and they looked fine. So I guess it just flickers when it gets hot (like WhteTLS said). Whew...what a relief.

I haven't noticed any flickering with my V-LED's harness. Both of my resistors are touching as much metal as possible, so maybe they're just transferring most of the heat away.

vleds is too expensive i found another alternative

Just bought 68smd LEDs on eBay for $1 + $5 for shipping form HongKong. I just ordered this DRL harness and will post how well the harness works and pictures as soon as i get them.

Ok, call me stupid now. Do I need one of these modules for each LED DRL bulb? I ordered it figuring they'd send me enough to take care of my whole LED DRL issue (considering most people put 2 LED DRLs in at a time) but was surprised to just see 1 module. Thanks for the help.

I'm having the same flickering issue with the DRL's flickering after about 10 minutes of them being on. It seems as though this happens when they "heat" up? I have both the resistors mounted exactly as they say in the instructions. Has anyone found a solution to this? Is the problem that the RESISTOR itself is heating up causing the bulbs to flicker? This is kind of annoying. I hope I don't need to wait until winter for this to stop.

Update: Their new "Plug 'N Play" module is anything but. I tried with 1 module, nothing. I tried with another module, still nothing. Their tech support is pretty piss poor if you ask me but they agreed to refund me everything so it was only a slight pain in the ass. I reckon I'll be going with the DRL module setup from iJDMtoy.

That's too bad.
I just returned my iJDMToy version. It was easy to install, DRL warning light was on, but that was no big thing. The main gripe I had was that the lights were so dim looking during the day. Most times, you couldn't even see them unless you were really close. I could barely see them reflected on the cars in front of me a stops.
I've been looking for something brighter, so if anyone finds it please let me know.

Has anyone here just pulled out the fuse for the DRLs? Is that an ok thing to do to disable them? I'd rather not have them on even the LED version (but especially not the ugly stock lights)

I am curious about this as well. I actually think the stock DRL's look ok however today my pair of 92 LED 5000K switchbacks will be arriving from vled's. During the day I can use the white 5000K parking lights only if I would like. The colors would kind of clash if the DRL's were on so if I can disable them then that would be good.

I got these for my cousin's TL and works great without any problem. I installed the CREE LED and it is full 12V power instead of the conventional 6V while in DRL mode. Here is the link. They also sent me an email for a discount code too. Let me look for the code.

CREE is VERY bright and tends to get hot but they have a resistor and a heat sink on the bulb to prevent being burnt and reduce the heat.
We tested on my 12 TL but there is a shied that in front of the headbeam so we put in a SMD 360 Bulb and its bright but not as bright as the CREE. I'll see if I can post some pic of my cousin TL for the comparison.

i bought one set DRL kit and angel eye kit from JLClighting .com , the installation is very simple , took me about 10 mins for the DRL . took me 3 hr on the angel eye kit .i run a switch on both 9005 bulb (Cree led chip )and the angel eye , so i can switch when ever i like while i am driving . all i can say is i really love them , they are very bright .

so i def want to change out my DRLs and just spent all of today reading this entire thread...but here are what i believe my options were/are:
v-leds took the kit off their website (at least none of the links work and i can't successfully search for it) so i emailed them but wont' get a response til business hours...unless i am not searching for the right thing
iJDMToy version seems like it doesn't give you the brightness that it is meant for in terms of DRL/safety
any other options or thoughts on where to go from here? i really want this mod! it looks great on your car pics
