Useful variation on the old "Price Paid" topic
What was the price you paid for your 04TL if you didn't have a trade-in? In other words, don't reply to this if you traded in a vehicle.
This will give other folks more useful information about what they should actually be paying for the 04TL for in their area ... and what their actual trade-in value really is, after the usual dealer shenanigans.
Give us your location, purchase date, options, and pre-tax amount if you can.
For example:
Location: AZ (Phoenix)
Equipment: 5AT w/Navi, no extra stuff
Purchase Date: 22-DEC-03
Pre-tax price: $35,595 ($600 off MSRP, includes dest.)
This will give other folks more useful information about what they should actually be paying for the 04TL for in their area ... and what their actual trade-in value really is, after the usual dealer shenanigans.

NOTE: I think I could have shaved another $300-500 dollars if I'd have wanted a manual transmission. They had to pick up my car in another town - very few auto's in the Austin area, but lots of MT's.

Deal is $34,400 before tax, including accessory installation. Assuming MSRP on all items, I calculate $1,755 below MSRP. This was agreed to last Friday in central NJ with delivery stated to be by 3/15 (we'll see...the wait is already excruciating). I did have a trade (only $1400) which wasn't even mentioned until after the deal on the new TL was struck. I could've done a little better...took a $100 batch on emblem installation (dumb, dumb, dumb...) and was too tired to fight off the $157 doc fee at the very end. What the hey.

I like Mile High Acura in Aurora, but they didn't have anything in stock.

The local dealer is shooting for MSRP + Destination + $400 for an Appearance package. After notifying them i could get this for $34,00 they offered to knock $200 off the Appearance package, of which I did not get a clear explanation. Originally i was hoping it was the Protection package but i was led to believe it was merely some undercoating thing.
It was very pleasant dealing with North Park Acura.

This is the "value" of the forum in it's purest form. What this industry suffers from is that you (used to) never know what the guy in the "chair" before you paid...hence the problem with Automotive Sales process, the whole relationship starts off bad. This forum is our best shot a leveling the playing field..."Sweeeeet"!
