Upstream o2 sensor aftermarket?
Well I need to replace my upstream 02 sensor.
I cant believe a o2 sensor would cost 150 bucks; part number:
36531-RCA-A02
Anyone tried using a aftermarket sensor? Or a lower priced one?
Links would be great.
Thanks

I haven't had any parts go bad on the TL but I've used various parts from wrecking yards throughout the years, all of which have worked great at at a fraction of the cost of new (especially if getting the part from the dealer). Specifically o2 sensors, coil packs, a power steering pump and a radiator. I just purchased a coil pack for my wife's 2002 Toyota sienna after one died and began misfiring. Dealer wanted $220. Autozone wanted $90. Wrecking yard charged me $20.
I probably wouldn't purchase "wear" components from a wrecking yard such as brake rotors/pads, spark plugs or a clutch. But parts like o2 sensors should last the life of the vehicle. The chance of getting one from a used vehicle and having it go bad later on is rare. I'd check your local auto scrap/wrecking yards and see what they'd charge. If you call in advance, they'll often pull the part and have it ready for you when you arrive.

I have no experience with this, but if you are looking to go aftermartket, stick with denso aftermarket. Since it is a different part number, I am not sure it is the same exact thing; but according to all of the reviews I read, it works and fits perfectly. Check out Amazon and Rock Auto.

Thanks guys.. I replaced a fair amout of 02 sensors in my time. From free used to boshe, aftermarket, direct and non direct fit.
But they never cost more than 50 bucks.
My wifes old lexus IS i replaced I had to splice and that was 60 bucks.. None have issues. IMO its just a silly emissions sensor.
However the acura upstream has a 6 prong wire. However it shouldnt warrant double or triple the prices.
Any how Thanks for the link..
For others that need to order this.. THis is denso aftermarket part number.
Denso 234-5010..
The lowest price I found was from rock auto. with tax and ship was 96. and change.
However I decided to splurge with amazon paying 97. and change with tax and ship. why? Because im a bauler..lol and I already have an account.
Ill update this if it has issues.. but if I dont consider it has no issues..
