upgrade to 2004 TL

I am looking to upgrade from a 1999 Tl to a 2004 TL and I was looking for owners who have made similar changes. I'm very happy with the 99, but you know about car owners. 2004 was the change over year and I wonder if this model had a lot of bugs that would annoy me.

i came from a car similar to the TL to the 04. The car is very nice and comfy. The only little quirks i have are the rattles and how easy it is to scrape on driveways.

Leave it to me to give everybody a good laugh, yes I did answer my own post because I did not understand how I would find out how to locate any postings to my, as you call them, threads. Now that I see that you get an Email that takes me directly to the responses, I found out how this site works. Anyway I found out that a lot of people use this site everyday, but unfortunately I never really got much helpful information other than a bunch of yucks which I guess I deserve. Does the third generation 2004 TL have a lot of initial problems, rattles, poor tire life, uncomfortable seats, etc that were corrected with the 2005 model ? Is it a vastly superior model than the second generation TL that I really like ?

The only thing the 3rd Gen has and not in all car is the rattles. I like the 2nd Gen better for its size and I think the looks are better and classic. The 3rd Gen interior is the most immaculate interior on the market and you'll love the power coming from a 99 its a big difference.

That was funny.

I don't know much about the previous generations but I like my 2006. I haven't any major issues. I did notice there are slight butt prints on the drivers side seat and the dash does need to be treated fairly often.

Other than that I love the TL!!!

lol that made my night.

In response to your thread, I'm not sure if you fall into the category, but I've read about the transmission failure and that is something you may want to take into consideration.
