So your saying go for the 04-06 Aspec minus the rear (Get the TypeS Aspec rear)?

Or go all TypeS Aspec?

My dad is a pretty big car guy so I doubt I'd really run into any major install issues but hey, ya never know.

 

If you are '04-'06, imo, get the base front and sides and the rear type-s. That opens up a much bigger and better world of exhaust possibilities.

 

Unless you're like me and like the base tips

 

I want to buy bumpers, mainly ones with fog lights or a used set of ron jon. Can anyone help me out?!?!

Good stuff, perhaps you can mention the suspension kit + base that's included with the a-spec for the base?

 

This thread is specifically for the A-Spec body pieces. There are plenty of other threads about suspension and the other pieces that comprise the full A-Spec package.

 

Looking to get into the group buy for May, just got a question for you guys. How hard or what mods would need to be made to get a 2007-2008 TYPE-S front lip to fit on a 04 Base front end?....or can it even be done in the first place?

 

It can be done. There is a thread with plenty of pics, I forgot who but if you google "acurazine type-s a-spec on base" you should find it.

 

You don't think I'd have to buy on 07 front bumper?...From what I've read, the front bumper of the 04 is about an inch or so smaller.

 

Not sure on that. Idk what the guy started with, I just know it was a Type-S A-Spec mounted to a Base model.

 

Does anyone know of any other kits besides aspec and Ron Jon for an 08 type s? I'm ready to do something but not sold on the aspec

 

Versus designed a front bumper but Eric's TL is the only one I've seen with it.

Damn, not sure I've ever seen Eric's from the front like that. That shit is crazy. Only he could pull off something like that and have it work so well.

 

The rear lip is mounted to the existing bumper.

I'm not sure what the part numbers are. PM a vendor such as AckTL05 or go to an Acura dealership's part catalog and search for them.

Hey, I have a quick question. I own an 06 tl base but I want to put on a 07 tl type s rear lip, will that be a derect fit on the bumper?

 

It'll fit just fine but you'll need to cut your existing bumper since the exhaust opening on the Type-S is larger.

This is a great post but can someone show me some pictures of what the side skirts look like not installed yet? I don't see any difference from a stock body tl and one with the side skirts.

There is definitely a difference, the A-spec lips stick out farther, to match the lines of the front and rear lips. That said, the masses likely wouldn't notice if you didn't have the matching sides, at least not at quick glance. Us AZiners on the other hand...

Sorry to bring this thread back up but is there any modification reqd to the rear bumper if I were to install a 04-06 a spec rear lip to the base 04-06 rear bumper? Or it is a direct fit with no cutting?

 

^^no cutting. just drilling holes into the face of the bumper for install.
