Type S honeycomb lower grill on base model insert

Hi guys,

I've searched and couldn't find an answer of how to do this mod. I've attached a picture as well.

How do you put type s lower honeycomb mesh on the 07-08 base model?

still nobody really did a DIY write up on this.

Is it really just a simple rotation and cut some tabs off to make them fit on the base bumper??

yes measure, measure, measure! Atleast thats what I did. Once you have the measurements on point do your cut. TAKE YOUR TIME. I just bondo to put the new pieces back together. Then before the bondo dried I shaved the extra bondo and then sanded down to my liking. Once it dried I painted everything nice and black. Few coats, let completely dry and reinstall.

You wont need the original type is fog light holes.. youll just need to use the type s honey comb and the base fog holes.. Just take your time study it a few times.. You dont need to cut anything else other than what you see in my first picture

EDIT: actually what you see in my first picture is what you will trash

So basically you only need to cut the section between the fog hole and the trim area.

sounds like a lot of work;

If you get the Type-S aspec lip you essentially don't need the grills anymore. But if you want them (I did) you can cut them the same way you did and leave them in, but you won't get to bondo anything.
