Type S 6MT Changes from 07 to 08????

Supposedly they didnt make any changes from 07 to 08, but I'm not so sure...

Does anyone know if the TL-S changed in any way at all from 2007 to 2008?

Any knowledge or help here would be much appreciated...

I am specifically interested in any transmission changes.

thanks!

when ur driving with ur window or windows open the system either brings the volume higher or lower and as u drive and begin to achieve a high speed rate the car brings the volume up. the 6mt system is the same they changed the bell housing on the 07 supposedly. but the power to me feels the same no differences on the 6mt. the auto im sure feels totally diff.

if u get a high enough vin number the 08 will not require the third gear TSB, as well as some other TSBs not exactly sure of the other ones

that is not the active noise cancellation that you described, but the speed volume control is what you described...

nothing has changed 07-08 type s is the same car....

active noise cancellation is a system that uses a couple of different microphones located in the front and rear of the car to detect interior noise and then the system sends out a sound at a certain frequency that you cant hear, but it will cancel out some of the noise making the cabin quieter....

are you all sure? i'm not because somewhere else i read that the navi had a few differences from the 07 and the 08...and some other very small things.

just like the 2003 TL-S had perforated door leather and the 2002 TL-S did not, small things like that and i'm sure there is some things like that between 07 and 08 but i just forgot what they are

Duuuuuuude, THERE IS NOTHING, the nav thing is only because you'll get the new Nav disc if you buy on 08. The 07's have the older NAv disc version. You can just go and buy the new nav disc.

Pretty sure it's the same 'appearance' and 'function' wise...they might of fixed some recalls, or tighten a few bolts

(but they still effen missed the rattles, lol)

Seriously, if you want to understand active noise cancellation watch the video link i posted above... its a great example of the exact same system...

the noise cancellation in the tl-s is not for the phone, mabe it has it for the phone too but the noise cancellation on the radio uses microphones to hear the noises and instantly make a reverse sound through the speakers...an anti-noise...that reduces overall road & wind noise without you noticing.

Does the technology work even when you have the stereo? Is there still "noise" (the cancelling noise), coming out of the speakers? Has anyone compared the difference in noise levels between a TL and TLS?

the phone thing does not necissarily have to work that way, it could just ignore noises and not send them to the phone in the 1st place, vs the noise cancillation in the car cannot make your ears not hear the outside noise....therefore it makes and anti-noise to cancel out the noises.

your link doen't really explain how it works...all it shows is what it does...all he said is that it amplifies sound...that could just mean it ignores the rest of the noise that's not vioce and that is not clear...which is a completely different system than the noise cancellation in the TL-S

The 2008 TL features an improved new immobilizer system, a separate Tire Pressure Monitoring System warning lamp and two new body colours. The navigation system has been updated to work in Hawaii, and the AcuraLink has been expanded to incorporate 76 markets (up from 38 markets for the 2007 model)."

I don't trust wikipedia. I can go on their to that exact post and say a Prius will outrun a TL Type-S. Funny thing is, probably half the people that read it would believe me.

Anyways.. NO CHANGES.

just cuz it's possible for it to be false information doesn't mean it necessarily is does it?

that info sounds legit and is not a big deal (unless you live in hawaii), but it's there nevertheless...just bacuse u have an 07 doesn't mean there isn't a few things better on the 08.

New and improved Immobilizer System? I don't think so, it's all the same garbage. Separate Tire Monitor? My 2007 has that also... From what I know, the colors are the same and as for Acura Link...that's because the 08 has the new Navi DVD ver...if you upgrade an 07's DVD, you'll have the same useless crap too!

^^statement without knowledge....the immobilizer system might be the same but you don't know that....as for the TPMS...every TL has seperate tire readings, it says seperate LAMP, read more carefully...if that's true then that means that the instrument cluster is slightly different between 07 and 08 and they are probably not interchagable.
