Turn off / Temporarily disable Alarm???
Maybe I'm daft here.. but is there any way to temporarly disable the factory alarm - or to lock the car without arming it?!??
I ask this because I often times work at sites that are very noise-sensitive, and they generally want car alarms disabled.. But I have not found a way to lock the TL without the alarm being armed..?!? Is this possible?
Thanks!!

Ain't you on the road trip now?
I hear you. I bet your company parking lots/garages are pretty high-security, so people out there would not touch your car or break into your car. Therefore, your car alarm should not be triggered, except the electonic failure. We don't have the regular motion sensors for the alarm. Without physically breaking into your car or mistakenly triggering it by the driver, I guess our alarm should be OK???

I am! 800 miles yesterday, passed my break in period -- able to open her up a little bit!
Moving up from my '02 CR-V, the power is amazing.. Lighter car, but 110 extra HP..
As for the alarm.. just was curious about it.. I'm a government contractor, and the garages are high security.. I imagine the alarm should be OK -- but the reason I asked is because yesterday at a rest stop on a highway, I parked 2 spaces down from another 3G SSM TL, and its owner went to my car, tried to open the door (which I had locked) and set off my alarm accidentally!
The main reason I ask is because I've seen 2 other SSM TL's at my workplace! (About 1000 people work at my location)
I guess barring mistakes like that, it should be OK -- just wondering if anyone knew of a "trick" to lock the doors without arming the alarm.

So, they set off the alarm just by pulling on the handle while the car was armed? I had no idea that set off the alarm... The door didn't even open?

tcp100, my friend's buddy worked there, too. That's why I said your garage is well-secured.

Does the alarm go off when the center console storage bin is opened? Like in lincolns? Also, the TL doesnt have shock sensors, which is unfortunate in the case of most people.
