Tundra Crewmax Vs Acura TL Type S 6mt

Ok so me and the boss's son are on about the FI of our vehicles. He wants to get the supercharger that puts around 504 hp 500lbs of torque vs my (if the turbo is reliable) turbo 450hp 400lbs of torque??? who would win and by how much.

3,500lbs and 450hp
5,200lbs and 505hp

.28cd vs a brick

The truck will take you off the line and the TL will blow past it like it's standing still by 50mph. Not even a race unless you stick with short distances.

thanks IHC.... good to hear cause all i hear from him is look how fast my truck is (from youtube vids) and how he will smoke me. Not many turbo videos to really show how the tl performs against others right now.

Those new Tundras are pretty quick from stock. I believe the run in the 14's.

I've run a co-worker's Tundra several times and it beats my stock 5at to 80mph and then I go around him. But I have a lot of extra weight and it's all stock.

Do you know if his supercharger kit puts down the 504 at the wheels or at the crank? If it's at the crank, tell him to save his gas as he'll be putting down the same or less power than you with an extra 1,700lbs to push around.

To be competitive he would need a solid 560rwhp or more.

I have run my buddy in his 2010 Tundra several times street and track and he loses just barely. I know if he had I/E it would make things even more interesting!

That's even better. A 450whp turbo TL should put over 500 at the crank.

I know this thread is a few months old but I was wondering what the outcome would be with a 07 tundra and an 07 tl-s. One of my friends has the truck and we were wondering who would win. His tundra has flowmaster exhaust, and my tl-s has an AEM CAI. Both of us are all motor, no forced induction. What do you guys think?

My friend Dave has a 2010 Toyota Tundra Crew Max Limited 2WD and I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX V6 Auto Coupe. His is completely stock and I raced him just with my Intake and Exhaust(before my pulley and jpipe). I'd consider my car then about as fast as an auto stock 3rd Gen TL-S. He was at my bumper basically from a 0-90MPH. We raced at the track here and I beat him 6 out of the 7 times we raced. The gap was no greater than .2 tenths. I was ahead by 1mph at the 1/8th mile and 2+MPH at the end of the 1/4 mile. Off the line was about a dead heat but by at the top of second I would slowly creep and then when I hit 3rd gear I would creep a bit more. From a roll though he loses by more. On the highway I take him quite easily but most of that is due to his poor aerodynamics I bet! I haven't raced him with the Jpipe yet but he really has no chance now until he gets his I/E. Since your buddy has exhaust and you have an intake it should be really close! Let us know the outcome!

I forgot to add that if he is a 2door Tundra with the short bed and 2wd you would lose. My buddy weighed in at 5440lbs at the track. I know the lighter 2door 2WD is capable of low 14's. Where as my buddy in his heavier 4 door Limited 2WD is a high 14 second truck.

ahhh sorry for no update but we did race and both times he got LEFT! Dont get me wrong that truck is powerful but the take off is just sluggish.. around second that truck has some pull but with me shifting into third hard (which by the way the TL-S pulls very hard) he has no chance.

after the car show last night i raced a 99 mustang GT with cam ( have no idea what size cause he didnt mention... but it did lope pretty good) and full out exhaust lowered on the billet wheels... anyways let him have the jump at about 70 dropped it in third caught up with him and was passing around 83 and walked after that

how i knew he had what he had was cause he lived on the same exit and pulled over and we chatted for alittle while.

That's odd that a car that traps the same as a TL-S when stock got beat after some serious mods.

Not to odd, that mustang is 11 years old and prob been beat on for some time. Plus he raced the TL's race 70+ roll. From a dig or Slow it down to 45-50 and the mustang would show its muscle.

I had a similar experience last year Satin when I raced an 08 Tundra from 20 mph on and he stayed right with me to 80 or so when I started to pull away. I have all the basic bolt on and run low 14's..
