Drove the 08 TL, 08 TLS, and 08 TSX, and really there wasn't any comparison for me.

The TSX was the loosest feeling, least powerful, and most "generic" feeling car of the three. It reminds me of the Honda Accord V6. I really don't even think there is a difference besides badges.

Get the TL i considered a tsx until i drove one. I'm a college student as well and have a 15-20 minute commute from home, its bigger with more power while still being able to achieve decent gas mileage, and there is nothing better than taking it for a spin on the highway. I had a scion tc before, v6>I4 like everyone says, and my personal experience with inline 4's, super peppy up to about 50 mph. After 50 you will be WOT and punching the dashboard and yourself for not buying the TL.

Exactly. I came from a Z24 and tC to the TL and have never regretted it once.

'06 Black Cherry Pearl (BCP) It was a pretty nice car for the price. Just wasn't quite nice enough for what I wanted at my age. As my wife put it...it was time for me to have a grown up car. So I sold my Z24 in March and traded my tC for the TL in August. I miss the lower car payments....but that is about it. The TL gets the same if not better MPG than the tC (not the Z24). The TL clutch is without a doubt more difficult than either of my prior cars.

i had an 06 nautical blue, yeah great car for being young, but you outgrow it fast, and i was noticing it was becoming the new mazda 3 girl car and i wasn't gonna have any of that. I mostly sold it because i outgrew it, i was 6 foot when i got it and since then have grown 3 more inches so i started to feel pretty cramped in it. I was looking at civic si sedans when i came across a tl and decided to drive it, the rest is history, sold my tc in one day and the next day purchased a tl. The only thing about the tc that i completely hated was the fact that i babied the car to death, waxed it 2-3 times a year and always kept it spotless and the paint still began to bubble and discolor. I have noticed that toyota tends to use really crappy paint with all of their cars. My friends is350 is 2 years newer than my car and his paint looks a ton worse than mine, especially on the front bumper.

I own a 06 tsx and my mom owns a 08 honda accord V-6. The tsx has more standard equipment. I drive the accord when I am visiting my mom-prefer my tsx-but that is my opinion-The tsx is smaller but it fits nicely in our garage. The TL and accord are a tad to big.

I originally was cross shopping the TL (3rd Gen) and TSX (1st Gen) with a lean to the TSX. I liked the slightly smaller size and the sharper feeling handling. Having been in an '11 TL loaner the past couple of days, I feel that that "sharper handling" feeling came from the electric steering and more responsive throttle as the '11 TL has to my '08.

In the end, it came down to my wanting a V6 (never owned anything but 4 cyl before); liking the larger size and features of the TL and, I hate to say it, but the 1st gen TSX's not being able to play MP3's was a major turn off. The final nail was TSX's in my area were within a couple thousand of the TL, making the TL a better value.

1st gen TSX was a chic car, they had a survey a few years back and it was top 5 or top 10 chic car.. recent TSX is not but that is because it offerrs a v6 and is larger

TSX is Japan Accord, not sure where TL rates against a Japanese version

There is no Japanese equivalent for the TL.

But I do know that the TL chassis is similar to the 7th gen accord (2003-2007)

I don't understand it though because the TL looks alot bigger than the 2003-2007 accords from the outside.

I've only seen pictures of the interior of the 7th gen accord and it doesn't look as big but maybe because it's pictures...

Can anyone confirm if the 03-07 accord interior is just as spacious as the 04-08 TLs? Or is it slightly smaller?

A friend has a 08 accord and my TL seems much roomier

Yes-test drive and decide which one is for you. Just one thing-do not settle for automatic if you want Manual. Did that once-never again. Oh my tsx is rattle-free.

My friend is in the same boat. He's having carmax send up a TSX to test drive.

I'd let him drive my TL if it was auto but it aint and he's not exactly a regular mt driver. He's sat in the drivers seat and liked it. Feels big vs. the is250 he test drove.

I chose TL over TSX due to size, power, and 6MT benefits (brakes, stiffer springs, RSB, LSD, etc. I believe the TSX doesnt get any special treatment.) MPG is comparable if babied, but capable of sub 6 0-60 times.

(edit: end of day brain deadness)

i think its perception. we have an 03 accord in the household and the interior seems to be equal if not perceptably slightly smaller. the back seat seems to be fairly equivalent. it may be the lay out of the car and possibly the size of the car.

ok here are some numbers:
Interior Dimensions.... DX/LX/LX-V6.....EX/EXV6.........TL
Headroom (in.) Front...40.4 ..............38.3................38.7
Rear.........................38.5 ..............36.8................37.2
Legroom (in.) Front 42.6...............42.6................42.8
Rear.........................36.8...............36 .8................34.9
Shoulder Room (in.) Front 56.9........... 56.9...............58.3
Rear..........................56.1................ 56.1................55.7
Hiproom (in.) Front 54.6............... 54.6................55.6
Rear..........................53.5................ .53.5................53.8
Cargo Volume (cu. ft.) 14.0................14.0................12.3
Passenger Volume (cu. ft.) 102.7 ........97.7................97.9

so....the verdict is....it depends on which model of accord you get. the accord will be a hair smaller to bigger than the TL, based on volume.

Because you are a teenager and hopefully college student, I will suggest the TSX. Here are a few reasons why:

1. TSX is a 4 cyl. So cheaper on gas. And I think TSX recommends Premium fuel, whereas TL requires it. Feel free to correct me TSX owners, for I never owned a TSX. I am just saying what I heard.
2. Cheaper to insure.
3. Cheaper to maintain.
4. Less chance of getting a speeding ticket.

TSX is actually a re-badged Accord from Asia and EU market. Whereas TL shares the Accord platform, which means that the Accord chassis is "optimized" for the TL. Other than that, I think there are no similarities in a TL and an Accord, in terms of the interior and exterior. The TL engine is also upgraded and tuned Accord V6. They are not exactly same because Accord V6 runs on regular gas, TL doesnt.

Hope this helps.

either way they both have VTEC so it's good, I would lean towards the TL though cause dat shit is balla status, a little quicker, more class to impress her mom , and if you put some suspension on the TL it would be more fun to drive too.

I originally wanted an 06 TSX, but changed my mind at the dealer and bought an 07 TL. The TSX cramped backseat was a deal-breaker.
