TSX owner seeking TL-S

Hey Everyone. Im currently in the market for a new car, and currently own an 06 CGP TSX w/navi. I test drove the 09 TL and just cant get past the styling, as bad as I want a new new car I'm really interested in finding a low mileage 08 TL-S preferably in KBP or red(Sorry forgot the actual color name) My 3 questions are this:

1.) How hard is it to find an 08 with really low miles, most of the ones I keep coming across already have like 30K on them, if I could find one with 10K or less would be perfect.

2.) How hard is it to find one in those colors?

3.) My current car (TSX 5AT) really bores me and Im hoping to find a 6mt, is the TL-S a good car to learn manual on? I've never owned an mt yet and think this could really up the fun factor!

Thanks for any and all responses!

Nick

First of all Welcome to AZ

I also upgraded from an 04 TSX 5AT to the 08 TL-S 5AT. Wow, what a difference.

1. As far as finding ANY 08 TL-S with miles around 10K is going to very very hard to find. It may take to a while and a lot of looking nationwide.

2. KPB and MRP are both kinda hard to come by. I think the KPB is more abundant.

3. I would think the 08 TLS 6MT would be a great car to learn MT on. My son didn't know how to drive MT either and bought himself a 06 S2000. He buddy took him to a partking lot at night and he learned really quick.

Well he is "hoping" to find a 6mt. To be honest, it's pretty difficult to find a low mile 08 in the exact color and transmission type especially if it's a 6mt. I went through some trouble myself to find a low mileage 08' WDP in the area. In regard to the price, it's dealer pricing and we all know what that means. Offer them 32k or even 30k they may take it.

As for whether the car is a good one to learn MT in, IMO it probably isn't. It's a FWD with a LOT of power to the front wheels. S2K has one of the best manual transmission which makes the learning easy. Rent a civic or something if you want to learn MT.

Hey man, KBP will be hard to find since it's only on the Type-S, trust me I just got on and an 07 in auto. What your best bet to do is find someone you know or a friend knows that you can trust that goes to auctions.

The ones at auctions are usually repo cars and most of the time have good miles on it. I just got my TL-S two weeks ago with only 8,700 miles on it for an 07 in KBP auto. Took me a month to find it and researching 400mile from my location.

Take your time if that is exactly what you want. There has been this one sitting out here by me for A VERY LONG TIME but the guys at this dealer are total donkeys and tried taking advantage of me because of my age, 23.

07 higher miles than you want but just to give you more options

rent a manual car for a day or two and learn on that. the TL, especially tl-s, is not the easiest manual to drive, although not difficult. learning manual on a car can kill around 10% of the clutch life and replacing the clutch is not a cheap operation.

As far as finding those colors AND a 6mt.....doubtful, but its always worth a try. Your more likely to find nbp or wdp. Get the 6mt though, you wont be disapointed no matter what color you get.

Nick, I also had some really good luck in Cars.com. It's worth a try.
