TSX = No Ballz

Check it, I took my car in today for the two recalls and they gave me an 08 TSX as a loner. First off this damn thing was filthy , this was my first time getting a loner so I don't know if all of them come jacked up like this one. When i got in I felt I was in a hall closet or something wayyyyy to small. When i got on the road you know I had to test it a bit and let me tell you this thing sucks. Toooo Slow it really has no ballz at all. I may be asking to much of the TSX but I know its not for me. It's gotta be a chic car, cause my wife loves the damn thing.

Never driven a TSX but was considering trading my TL for a 4-cylinder and the TSX was on my list of choices...but now, all consideration ended!

TSX is a fantastic commuter car

Both cars have their pros and cons.

Oh...just to clarify this...my consideration of getting a TSX didn't end because of this thread. It actually ended a few days ago when I realized that I love the TL more everytime I see it (everyday) and when I realized that I would like to have some fun with this car. Granted, the TSX does have more aftermarket parts but I'm sure the TL will have come a long way when I'm done with it.

I share your thoughs, I had a TSX loaner for a week and half, this crap made me appreciate my TL a lot more than I already did.

The car is tight, felt like the door was up on me, and i am only 5'7". I can press full throtle, close my eyes for 10 seconds, and still wont be at 40 mphs. Def a chic car, my girl has never driven before and she is a bit scare to learn on the tl, when she go in this car, she was feening to drive it.

I am sorry , but many cons for the TSX and many Pors for the TL. Atleast when comparing these 2 rides.

The TSX is fantastic for doing what it was built to do. The handling is the centerpiece of the platform and it roundly trounces the TL in that department. Being an I4 instead of a V6, it shouldn't be surprising at all that it doesn't exude torque without being coaxed.

I personally love the fits me like a glove aspect of the interior. I feel like a fighter pilot with all the controls lying just at my finger tips. The TL feels a lot more like sitting in a recliner. Yeah it's marginally more comfortable but the TSX is hardly lacking in that regard and I like feeling more connected to the driving experience. I also think the interior is much better looking than the TL. These are all subjective matters of course.

Maybe it's because I'm older but I don't really have a need for much more torque on demand than the TSX offers. Once I go the Hondata route I suspect I'll be completely content.

you would be more upset if the TSX had as much or more balls than the TL.

thats over exagerrating it a bit too much...the TSX is a very nice car, not as fast as the TL but still a very nice dependable car...

TL> TSX ... that is why TSX's are always loaner cars

The TSX is NOT a chick's car. It's a very dependable car and I love the way it out handles the TL. Also, you must be using 87 octane gas if you cannot accelerate to 40 mph in 10 seconds. It's also pretty much bulletproof. I cannot say that for the TL. They have transmission problems.

The 6M TSX is very nice, and a different animal which is much more of a driver's car than the 5A version. The 5A TSX feels slow and unresponsive compared to the 6M TSX, let alone the TL.

Disclaimer: I would have gotten a 6M TSX instead of the TL if my wife hadn't wanted an auto trans.

Can't argue with that logic - I just had the tranny in my 06 auto replaced at 31K because it was whining.

But I have to disagree with the assertion that the TSX handles way better than the TL - yes, the TSX is lighter and that always helps, but my TL on a good set of tires would have (and has had) no problem beating up on TSXs, even in the twisties. Even if I made a mistake and the TSX gets a little ahead, I would just reel them in at the next straightaway. Now I have had problems dispatching RSX Type S w/ 6 speed - those little bastards really haul-ass with the right driver and a few simple mods.....

But I agree that the TSX is very good at what it was designed to do and def isn't a piece of crap....

I see quite a few chicks driving our TLs, usually stock. In fact lately, I've seen more chicks behind the wheel so in a way our TLs are "chick cars" as well.

I've gotten both TSXs and RSXs as loaners when I brought in my TL. I though the RSX was absolute crap and I feel bad for anyone I see driving one now...it was extremely slow and handling was not even that good, and the interior was also terrible. I drove an '08 TSX and thought it was a lot nicer. I agree with the person who said it does handle a lot better than a stock automatic TL, I don't know about 6MT or a TL-S but it handled a lot better than my '04 stock 5AT TL. I liked the way the steering feels precise and responsive as you turn the wheel. The TL feels too floaty and not nearly as precisely responsive as the TSX. The TL still wins for me because everything else is a lot nicer, i.e the interior, power, features etc. but I really liked the handling of the TSX. It handled almost as well as my old Audi A4 sport which was all wheel drive, and considering it's FWD that impressed me. Not nearly enough power in the TSX though.

I'll say the same thing here that I said in the "RL" thread i.e. you guys can continue this discussion in Car Talk, Ramblings or in the TSX forum. Thanks.
