Trying to select a vanity plate

There are quite a few vanity plates availabe in illinois

Type S
Acura
JDM S
Spiike
Spike

but there is one that made me laugh... PARK.

Would it be weird to have a license plate "PARK" ? btw that is my last name.

Saw a modded Maxima (?) today with "PLLMEOVR". That's gonna run up some traffic fines.

I say "SPIIKE".

I've heard of someone on here with "3.2 go". Thought that was pretty clever.

Funniest one I've seen was "H82WORK".

I would go with Spike or Spiike.

You already have "Acura" and "-S" on the trunk if the TL isn't debadged. The TL is not made in Japan, so it can't accurately be described as "JDM."

That leaves "S*ke"... or "SPARK"?

I've always wondered if there is a connection between the word "vain" and vanity plates. Obviously I'm not a big fan of vanity plates!

EDIT: lol, turns out vanity is in fact the same definition as vain. all these years...

I don't have vanity plates but I do have license plate frames. My front one is a Golden State Warriors one (We Believe...sort of....lol). My rear says: I'm not speeding (on the top) and I'm Qualifying (on the bottom).

I have one that my parents got me for my birthday one year. Just get something that actually means something to you. Like if Spike is a nick name use that. I wouldn't get something like TL 3.2 because what happens if you change cars, now you don't have any use for it. Just my thoughts on it.

Where are you getting this information? I know several people who work for the Sec of State and can't get Type S or Acura for me because they are currently registered in good standing. Check out https://www.ilsos.gov/PickAPlateWeb/index1.html and you will see this is the case...

I ended up getting a 3-letter plate about 2 months ago that is my initials. I like it because whenever i get a new car, i won't have to figure out a new vanity plate...

edit: also, if you check out http://www.ilsos.gov/regstatus/ you can search any number and see the current status. Acura & Type S are both active.

University of illinois license plate frame. It's actually to support the alumni association... which is why I was thinking of getting the alumni plates. If you go on the same site, and then click on collegiate frame and enter those names in. That is the same site I was at.

University plates are classifed a little different so you can get names like Acura and Type S... but normal illinois plates you can't. One of my friends has a 3 letter license plate university plate which is generally reserved for government.

So yes someone could have Acura as an illinois plate but I could have Acura in the collegiate plate in Illinois as well.

I'll be updating my vanity plate soon. I currently have LV MYTSX on my 08 TL-S......

For you I'd go with Spiike.

well the story goes that a guy in cali wanted to get vanity plates

so he was asked to pick 3 chioices, in the order of prefference, his first 2 choices were taken and in his 3rd choice he put "NO TAG" to signify that he did not want a custom plate

well turns out that 3 weeks later he received a license plate, bearing "No Tag"

along with the plate came 500 tickets all issued to the vehicle bearing the license plate "No Tag"

you see anytime cali police from wherever county or town wrote a ticket and the automobile displayed no tag, "NO TAG" was placed in the license plate box

What do you think? Do you really need to ask? Of course they remember you more...isnt that your intent by installing a vanity plate in the first place? Guess you kinda have to take the good with the bad there.
