Angry Trunk Spoiler Replacement FAIL!

So today I dropped my Acura TL 2007 Type S off at the body shop to have a new spoiler installed. I purchased this one from ebay
Acura TL Sedan 04-08 4 Door ABS Trunk Rear Wing Spoiler Painted Clearcoat | eBay

I just got a phone call from the body shop saying they can't install it because the factory spoiler is bolted on! That would leave 6 holes in my trunk, 4 of which would be visible.

My last 2006 TL only had 3M tape holding it on. I'm stunned, and obviously feel stupid for not checking first. I'm also really disappointed.

Does anyone know if bolting these things down is typical for a type S?
Also, any suggestions on a replacement trunk spoiler that isn't silly looking but would cover the holes?

My body shop wants $800 to patch the holes and paint the trunk lid, and that's not happening!

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

If it is a stock spoiler from Acura, yes, it does have bolts and holes. The base model you owned previously was a replica eBay spoiler that was taped on.

Thank you for letting me know, it will make returning this spoiler easier.

Seems like you have 3 options here.

1. Leave the type-s deck spoiler and return the wing back to the seller
2. Go with the install and shell out the $800
3. Find someone willing to trade their trunk with wing spoiler for your type-s trunk with spoiler

I like 1 better

Or..orr..trade a base trunk lid for your type s, and have them put the wing on it.

what color is your car?
