Is this true? warranty question

I just dropped off my car for rear speaker replacement under warranty. I thought it would be a good time for them to fix few rattles which I hear from the front center speaker grill and the passenger door corner too.

The service writer told me that Acura covers rattle under warranty only upto 12k miles / 1 year!! I said whaaat!! I told him my Acura RSX rattle was fixed at 30k miles.. then he said well Acura does not pay them for these fixes and it has to be approved by the GSM. I guess he was just trying to bull shit and avoid doing any work on them.

And btw, they have come up with a new loaner contract which states you can drive the loaner only within 50 mile radius of the service center, miles still remain unlimited.

Should be covered up to 50K miles and/or 5 years. The basic warranty.

4 years/50k. Sounds like a call to Client Services is in order.

the 1 year, 12K applies ONLY to wear and tear items that can be done under warranty such as the brakes warping or the alignment going severely out for no reason.

The rattles are covered under the 4 yr 50K! Call up acura client services and tell them about your experience! Remember not to say you'll never go back, but you want this rectified and yourself satisfied with the resolution.

When I get a loaner car I drive it about 125 miles from where the dealer is. I have no problems with that. The dealer is in Emmaus, Pa and I am in Toms River, NJ. When I need a loaner car I drop my car off at the dealer, get the loaner car, keep it overnight and return it the next day.

Got the car back from the dealer, the speaker was replaced and the door rattle was fixed too they put some felt around the door panel and some inside the side rear view mirror door attachment.

The center speaker grill rattle he mentioned they were not able to reproduce and said If I hear it again then schedule a test drive and they will take care of it. I was ok, since its an easy fix and I can do it myself.

The overall experience was good.

the loaner agreement is to keep people from going on long weekends away with the car, but a chat with the SM about your planned trip to... cant change that...
if they will have the car a few days is reasonable,,
but not if you drop off friday late!! and go to reno from SF with it
(what me- never~)

If you work 70 miles from home the dealer is not going to hassle you about useage
Its to keep the scofflaws at bay~

service writers are easily confused by the many different warranties and limits
Always ck on your own!
and speak with the service manager and give them a chance to resolve any issue before going to corp
thats procedure,,

SW messes up- SM fixes it- then you are happy and will/can give them all `10s` on survey card
anything less than all 10s is a fail to corp!!- who does read each comment card then send back to dealer for review at weekly meetings with staff
bonus cks ride on the cards being positive!
If someone really took good care of you- name them on the survey
-get them a little holiday bonus~ or promotion

What kind of paradise do you live in that scofflaws can afford late model Acuras? I'm moving there.
