Trashed paint

So I was traveling south bound on RT495 in Mass with my family, when it sounded like my 08 Type S was shot with pellett gun. We pulled over at the next exit to find 4 other cars with the same story. As it turns out we were hit with rocks who were thrown by kids from a railroad track near the highway. Lucky we were not killed with rocks flying through the windshield at 70 MPH. My windshield is broken, my drivers side window is pitted and there are 31 chips, dents and dings on my 2100 mile old ASM Type S. I am SICK. The whole side of the car from front fender, drivers and rear doors and rear fender are all effected along with a few dings on the front bumper and 1 one the roof. I cannot beleive it.

Oh man thats F'ed up and to think I travel on 495 all the time heading to Bourne/Falmouth.

Were the troopers called? I know the MA state police barracks is right there in Waltham.

BTW what part of the Cape are you from? I use to live in Hyannis and still head down to Sandwich every other week.

That stinks man. Most likely you'll have to file a claim with your insurance company to get the car repainted. If so, ask them if they will raise your rates because of this. Hopefully they don't.

I am from the Cape- S. Dennis. I have had this car for 1 year now and only put 2100 miles on it, so it WAS still perfect. Not 1 scratch or ding. Drive long distance once and it gets trashed. This happened on Sat. night at appx 9:30 PM. We called 911 and were asked to go to the State police barracks in Middleboro, which we did, as calls from other cars were flooding in. When we got there there were 3 other cars all with the same and more severe damage. In total 25 cars got damaged by these F-ing kids. They did send a search copter out and scent snifing dogs and found 3 kids nearby, but no arrests. The insurance adjusted was just here. Bumper, Drivers side, rear bumper and roof paint along with a new drivers side window and windshield, new clear bra I installed and window tint. Nothings matched factory paint. WHAT A F- ING HASSLE AND I AM PISSED OFF. Anyone have a GREAY paint shoip in SE MA recommendation?

If insurance pays for this, I would just bring it to the Acura dealership you trust. At least you're OK!

PM GreenMonster, he is from SE MA and can recommend a good shop. There is a shop on Willow Street in Yarmouth that is pretty good as well, if you want I can locate their name for you.

This isn't the first I've heard about highway vandalism on i-495. I used to live in Tyngsboro, right next to Lowell. I remember a few years ago the cops were busting kids left and right for shooting cars on the highway with bb guns. Kids seriously need better things to do, I never did this as a kid nor was tempted, why would they be temped to do it these days?

Wow, sorry to hear about your ordeal. I hate to hear stories like these, but I'm glad the outcome wasn't as bad as the one where acid was poured from an overpass. Some kids these days really need a good whipping to set them straight.

But i do feel your pain!

They are good, let me call my uncle today who still lives on the Cape and is good friends with the Hyannis rotary BMW/MB/Volvo dealer to see if he can check with the dealer and recommend a good body shop.

Kids who do that shit deserve an extended stay in the adult section of county jail. That is a good way to cause an accident and get somebody killed.

This brings back memories when kids where throwing bricks off the overpass on I-295 in Jacksonville. Killed several people. I live right down the road (about a mile) from that overpass. They have fences up there now. Those kids do need a beating for sure. They must have been there a while to hit so many cars. Glad nobody was hurt and hope the repairs go well.
