Even if someone experienced this, it is not normal and should be checked by the dealer at the earliest opportunity.

Have you checked the level of your transmission fluid lately?

Sounds like it's time to go to the dealer for a check up.

Did you check the tranny oil level? If it is low, dont take any left turns trying to beat that semi barreling down the road anytime soon.

I just had a similar problem repaired in my 6mt and in fact I was just about to post a thread about it.
I noticed a drip of oil under my car about three weeks ago and crawled under it to look. There was oil dripping from two bolts that hold the transmission to the engine. I took it to the dealer and they thought it might be either the engine rear main seal or the transmission input shaft seal. They pulled the transmission out and discovered that it was neither seal. It was leaking out the transmission vent tube. All(most?) manual transmissions have a vent tube near the top to vent pressure from inside when it heats up in order to keep from blowing seals. Well to make a long story short, it turns out that the transmission was overfilled from the factory and oil was blowing out the vent. Honda tech is apparently aware of this because the dealer called them and they were told that they have seen this on several 6mt cars. All they had to do was drain and re-fill the transmission. If they had known this beforehand, they would not have had to pull the transmission.
I would take it to the dealer and have them call Honda tech before they pull the transmission out. If you want to pm me, I would be happy to give you the name of my dealer and I'm sure he would be happy to give your dealer all the info.
Hopefully you are having the same problem and not a seal leaking.
Good luck.

I really don't think this was an engineering issue. It sounds like an assembly line process error. At least the vent itself worked and puked oil out of it instead of blowing the seal.

I took the car this morning, after waiting for 2hrs they try to tell me that the oil leak is coming to the drain plug, that I didnt torque the drain plug on the right spec.. I told that service rep. that his wrong. I told him that the oil is coming from the transmission, he try to give me my key back but i refused. I told him that I need to talk to the mechanic who check my car and we both crawl underneat the car and show him the leak. Right now im here at home waiting for them to call back. Champcar1 how long do they keep your car? I hope that they finish fixing my car before Dec. 6, before I go on deployment.

Absolutely nothing wrong with mine - best car I've ever owned.......

Zhal - It sounds as if ChampCar ended up having them drain and refill the tranny fluid and this solved his problem as they put too much fluid in it from the factory. This should not take the service shop any time at all, if this is the problem - although it sounds as if they are already giving you the runaround. Sorry, mate - BTW, thanks for your service to our country!!!!

Unfortunatley they had my car about a week. But, that was over the holiday and a weekend so really about 5 working days. If they had known it was just over-filled they wouldn't have pulled the transmission and probably would only need it a couple of hours. Just a drain and re-fill.
Stick to your guns and let me know if you need anything else from me.

That's exactly what it ended up being. But the service manager, his lead mechanic and myself all looked under the car on the lift and we all were betting on it being a seal.

And I also second the thanks for serving our country!! Be safe and many prayers will go with you.

Here's the update, i pick up the car this afternoon and thank god they didnt pull the tranny out. But the mechanic still didnt know what the hell is wrong with my car. but im pretty sure champcar is correct, I will check my tansmission oil tomorrow after work. the mechanic mentioned about some powdered that he spray on the transmission to find out if its leaking or not. He also mentioned that he checked the the oil seal from the inspection cover and didnt find any leaks from the seal. Well i'll give you an update tomorrow. Thanks everybody for all the support and I hope they continue our internet service on the ship while were overseas to keep me updated on the TL forum.. You guys have a nice day...

I'd be embarrassed to be caught saying something so laughable.
