Transmission Groaning Issue
Hello all! I have an 07 TL with 112k miles with an AT and when the car goes from 3rd gear right into 4th gear there's an odd groaning/whine that immediately goes away once the car shifts into 5th gear. There's a noticeable loss in power as even if I were to put my foot down to the pedal in 4th gear it wouldn't accelerate how it should. The loss of power and groaning as I said goes away once it shifts into 5th gear. Any thoughts and help would be appreciated!

Have you ever drained and filled the transmission fluid?
1 "drill and fill" is about 3 quarts. The entire system holds 8 or 9.. I thought it was 9.
I use Honda DW1 and Redline D4 mixed 50/50
It may be worth a try. But know in advance that any time you do 1 drain and fill , the transmission will sort of "relearn" or "adjust its shifting" when it gets newer fluid. It usually takes a day of driving to get it to adjust to the new fluid.
But if you have never drained and filled the fluid, then I think you could safely do a full 3 quart drain and fill of 100% redline D4.
Typically people like to do a 3x3quart swap over a month of time or so.. If all you have in your transmission is 100% DW1 honda fluid, then you could do probably 2 of the 3 quart drain and fills with 100% D4 redline. But at the 3rd swap I would make it 50/50 just to be safe. You will need some honda fluid for sure.. but I dont know exactly where the percentage falls.
*disclaimer... Do you own research and googling... I am not responsible for anything. Free advice is always dangerous..
