Transmission flush machine
Just wanted to get some feedback on how safe it is to use these machines to fully change the fluid. A manager said that honda doesn't reccomend it. The machine method is less wasteful and costly that the 4X drain and fill. I know a acura dealership where they use it and he said he hasn't had any problems

Acura has reiterated, several times, in Techline Service Articles and elsewhere NOT to use a machine flush.
Acura/Honda has a poor history with some auto trannys, I wouldn't F around with something other than what Acura recommends.

Honda made a new service bulletin which doesnt really effect us, but they made a method where they do 3x3- but the car stays on the lift- and gets run thru the gears and then drained and refilled.
Its for transmissions more hi tech than ours- from what I guess based on reading the bulletin. Lockup requirements of the torque convertor etc yada bsbs
Stick with the tried and true- do 12 qts it you want to fully cleanse the system and have all brand new oil in it. It holds 7.3 qts total~
On the 25mph 5 minute drive between each drain, you manually run up and down thru each gear-- including N and Park- then back on the car ramps
More drive than that, and the exhaust gets way hot and you cant work safely
If you get paid by the hour when DIYing things- more power to you!!
