Transmission Fluid Dipstick Location
I just changed the Transmission Fluid in my 08 TL-S 6MT but cant find the dipstick anywhere.
Any ideas??
Want to make sure there is the correct amount in there, I put in 3.3 quarts

You won't find a dipstick, but there should be three holes in the tranny. The fill hole, drain hole, and the inspection/check hole. Normally when filling the tranny you remove the check hole plug and fill until fluid starts to come out. So if you wanted to check your fluid level, you could locate the check hole and take out the bolt and fluid should start to leak out, if not stick your finger in the hole and feel for fluid. There's a write up in the garage as well.

you dont want to overfill the trans- that causes foaming and bad problems- loss of lubrication
Follow the diy and allow fluid to drain out till its at the correct level

how much you put in depends on how warm trans fluid was at draining (warm lets a little more easily flow out) and how well you drained the old fluid~ let it drip drip drip for 10 minutes

Ahh interesting, thanks.
Seems like more complicated than it needs to be, are they saving money on dipsticks?
I jacked up the back and drained it till it stopped dripping so it should be fine, now that there is 3 inches of snow on the ground its not as pleasant underneath there.
Besides I wouldn't think the foaming would be as much of an issue as the motor oil since there are no fast moving parts in there.
