Transmission Fluid Change Soon

Is anyone using Mobil 1 synthetic? I know there has been a lot of discussion here as which one to use but Mobil 1 seems like a good all around fluid don't you think? How many quarts does the TL hold?

I have 70K on my TL and not sure if the Tranny fluid has been changed. What is the recommended interval under normal driving conditions? Is it 100K and is Mobil 1 synthetic ok to use. I see where ATF-Z1 is recommended but is Mobil 1 compatible?

acura says every 60k change your atf. but it is always a good idea to get the Z1 fluid out of there asap. most go with redline atf, read this thread.

There is more discussion about Redline fluid than the Mobil 1. I use the Mobil 1. After 20K miles, there was no wear on the magnetic plug. I just did a second 1x3 with the Redline Racing (2x3 total now) and most shifts feel exactly the same. Since you cannot get less than "no wear," I would say that the Mobil 1 is just fine. In any case, it is a billion times better than the Z1.

I went with Amsoil Synthetic ATF. Redline is also good. If you want Mobil 1, you will want to make sure that the Mobil 1 Synthetic is compatible with honda/acura trannies and can replace the Honda ATF-Z1. the amsoil and redline website state that their ATF replaces ATF z1. I believe for a drain and refill it is 3.1qts.

The mobil 1 syn in the grey bottle is a Dex III fluid which is what the amsoil and Redline D4 are. It says Honda Z1 suitable on the back of the bottle.

I've been using the Mobil 1 for about a month now. The back of the bottle says its compatible with the Honda factory fluid. I can't tell much of a difference although I know it'll be a lot better for it in the long run.

There is not an atf made that is not compatable with the 5at in the Tl that I'm aware of.
