Transmission drain plug washer size on 2008 TL?
Transmission drain plug washer size on 2008 TL?
I'm doing my last drain+fill on my TL and am just noticing the new 20mm drain washer part # 94109-20000 is different size than what is currently on there. The current one appears to be an 18mm. I searched the net and the schematics at acuraoemparts.com and 94109-2000 20mm is the correct part for the 2008 TL. Also the 20mm one is thicker (not only thicker when looking at it from the edge, but also thicker comparing the distance between the ID and OD).
Can anyone give me some help on which one I should use??? The 18mm fits pretty snug while the 20mm one is pretty loose and I would have to make sure I get it centered when I'm tightening the bolt.
Unfortunately I only have a new 20mm washer because I trusted the parts list.
I have re-used the old one for the first 2 refills but was going to use a new one for the last...

oh well fwiw I finally had access to another car and went to the Honda dealer and got the same washer that was on there--18mm. I still don't know what is going on with the sizes that are listed for this car but it doesn't matter now.
At the ballgame last night, so a little late, but for future reference here's the filler plug washer also:
90471-PX4-000 ACURA TL DRAIN PLUG WASHER (18MM)
90441-PK4-000 ACURA TL SEALING WASHER (24MM)
90471-PX4-000 ACURA TL DRAIN PLUG WASHER (18MM)
90441-PK4-000 ACURA TL SEALING WASHER (24MM)
Same problem

Confirmed that it's 18mm for the Trans drain washer for Acura TL 2008 Base and the part# provided by lusid is correct: 90471-PX4-000 ACURA TL DRAIN PLUG WASHER (18MM). I just ended up calling Acura since different part#'s were being provided in this post.
Hello, I just did my first 1X3 on my new to me 06TL. I just read in the manual that the ATF fill plug needs a washer. I am 99% sure there wasn't a washer when I removed the plug. I was surprised not to see one since it was meticulously dealer serviced before me so i even double checked to see if it had fallen or was stuck. Do I need to find a replacement right away? Or could this have caused any damage? I will get a washer asap. Is this the right part? 90441-PK4-000 ACURA TL SEALING WASHER (24MM)?
BTW I am also having some trouble checking the level via the dipstick for the various reasons people have mentioned in other threads.
I measured the amount that I drained and filled with exactly the same amount, so here's hoping I did it right!

Even tho it was meticulously taken to the dealer doesn't mean it was taken care of at the dealer... I hate going to them for fluid changes, they don't give a crap about your car. Most mechanics are there for a job and a paycheck. They will get the job done as fast as possible and being human, they can forget things!
I would get one right away just to be safe!

Yeah I'll put one on right away. I agree about the dealer/service depts, but I'm also glad that my pre-owned TL has a known history of service (and I have all the records now) rather than nothing!
Can anyone comment on if there could be any damage due to previously leaving the washer off, however long that was?
Is the fill plug just to keep stuff out?

the daughter took her Jeep GC Hemi, that she purchased new, in for an oil change at the Jeep dealer. Paid for
synthetic oil/filter and drove out. Only problem was that the old oil filter on the Jeep had the date and mileage
from the previous oil change on the outside, and that was still on the Jeep, along with the old oil. Have serviced
cars that have had meticulous service records but low and behold, nothing was done.
Know its few and far between, but can happen.
Thanks everyone. BTW I bought the fill plug washer at the parts counter for just under $4 (Canada).
If that wasn't bad enough I also inquired about getting one of those nylon push-pin retaining clips for the splash shield under the car. They quoted $6.60 for one
yes, QTY 1.

washer meant to keep a nice seal so no dust or anything gets in to the transmission
