Transmission Cooler
Hey, i was wondering if anyone on here has added a transmission cooler on to their TL. I hear its one of the main reasons why transmission dies, because it over heats. I previously had an accord which the transmission has failed on me. I bought a used replacement one, and was told to add a transmission cooler on it. What do you guys think?

The newer trans use coolant to cool the trans, i have yet to see someone hook up a trans cooler to the newer transmissions, im sure it can be done though! As for the previous transmissions the trans fluid was cooled through its own seperate cooler at the bottom of the radiator. I have seen the newer transmissions fail though, honda and acura have yet to figure out to perfect their transmissions!

I keep saying this but I'm putting a big external cooler soon.
Our TLs bring the water to a small heat exchanger on the trans instead of oil to the radiator. I didn't see any external lines but still determined to make it work. I can't believe Acura was this cheap.

I was asking this because i am about to travel, and probably putting about 1000+ miles. I just didnt want any damage on my transmission. haha

Flat level ground on the freeway with the convertor clutch locked up, you will run cooler than driving around town. Still needs a cooler though.
