Trading in the TL
Trading in the TL
I haven't posted much here, but still wanted to say thanks for all the info I've gathered from this forum.
After about a year and a half of ownership, it looks like I'll be trading the TL in on Friday night. No issues or complaints, this is just about the average time that I keep a car before I get bored. Apparently, when it comes to vehicles, I have a pretty short attention span. (I've owned almost 40 of them over the last 25 years.)
This time around, I was looking for something a little more "fun" than the TL, so I'm picking up a car that I've always wanted since it was new - an '08 VW R32.

Thanks for all the well wishes.
This will actually be second MKV VW - I owned a 2007 Jetta in the past, which I had zero problems with during the time I owned it.
I know that VW's have been hit or miss with quality over the years (who hasn't), but I've been reading the R32 board on vwvortex since '08 when they came out, and from what I've read there, the cars seem to be pretty reliable.
The biggest issue that some have had is with the trans (sound familiar to any TL owners?) VW has actually stepped up and addressed with that one by replacing the mechatronics units on them and extending the warranty on the DSG to 100k miles.
Between the CPO warranty I'm getting and the extension on the transmission, I feel pretty comfortable. Based on my past average, I'll probably only have the car for a year or two anyway.
