Trading TL 6 speed for a Ridgeline
I'm strongly considering trading my 04 TL 6 speed fot a loaded Honda Ridgeline.
I would ofcoarse lose the heated tilting mirrors, Memory driver seat, 15 hoarse power and the handling accelleration of the TL. I would gain 4 wheel drive, a larger vehicle, tire pressure monitor, and another 3 months free XM.
AM I CRAZY for considering this. I have a 93 F-150 that I would like to get rid of but I still need to tow the ATV (Honda 400EX) and the Yahama R6 (soon to be a Honda 1000RR). PS my wife drives a 04 TSX loaded.

Do you want us to talk you out of it or something? Honestly though trade your wife's TSX, have her drive the TL, and then you have a Ridgleline. I'm sure your wife would love the TL more than the TSX.

Its a completely different type of vehicle. Trade the TSX if you must, not the TL. If i were to get a truck I would have to go with a ford F series. They have been doing it forever. But if you must, go ahead.

I pay $800 a year to insure the F150 and $50 per month to park because my driveway is too small. I want to purchase one vehicle that will take the place of the TL and truck.

Good lord, he can't make his wife drive the TL 6spd if she has no clue!
My wife can drive stick just fine and she STILL doesn't like driving my TL...too touchy for her.
I agree that the F150 is still probably the best truck out there but that's NOT what he's trying to do people!
Quincy, everyone here knows how much I love my TL, but what you are saying makes very good sense, ESPECIALLY after you mentioned the parking fee. Plus, with the TSX you have a sweet handling Acura to toss around when you get the urge. Just get your Ridgeline loaded and it will be fine.

Three Wheelin'
I saw one of these in person before anyone heard about it, while test driving a sexy red/black g35 coupe.. whiiile my TL was getting serviced. At first glance i said wow that looks freakn cool and futeristic! it was towing some long covered up trailer, like the one's you tow for a hot exotic lamborgini.
If he needs to trade in the tsx and f-150 for a down payment, good luck w/ your next purchase. but if i were you, i get her to learn how to handle the stick! lol

I looked at the Ridgeline a couple of weeks ago and it seems to be a nice vehicle, but I did not drive it. I was looking at a Pilot - thinking of tading my Trailblazer for a Pilot.
From a financial standpoint, trading the TL would probably be best, since you would probably get a lot more for trade-in value. If you really want the Ridgeline, I would wait a while, when the new wears off. I think most dealers are getting at least list price. If you wait about 6 months you can probably get a better deal.

My wife's '04 Pilot is probably the best vehicle we've owned. Rides nice, no rattles, and no engine/drivetrain vibrations (ok, none once we dumped the crappy Goodyear Integrity's and put Michelin CT's on it).
The Ridgeline is nice -- much like a Pilot w/ a beefed up frame and a 5' truck bed with storage underneath. I believe it has the same engine and AWD system as the Pilot (no locking 4WD). It can't haul as much nor tow as much as a 'true' pick-up though and some of the options are surprisingly expensive ($600 for a class III hitch and harness??) but I'm sure it's going to be a winner. Not sure if I'd purchase a first year model though.

It is a real sweet truck.
Way better than any Ford, but then what isn't.

I was in the process of test driving every Honda above the Civic when I found my '04 TL on a used lot (surprisingly enough). I didn't care for the Ridgeline as it looks too much like a Chevy Avalanche, which I can't stand and make fun of at every opportunity. It's a fine truck, and truly a Honda, but it feels way too big and clunky to be a daily driver unless I had a reason for the truck-ness of it, which I don't. The Pilot is a great SUV, but once again I don't need the size of it. My '02 CRV was a perfect mix of Honda feel and size, until I found the TL that is. You all know what that feels like.... *drool*

you just need to ask yourself if you need that kind of vehicle. TL and Ridgline are 2 completely different things. Instead of looking at the differences like heated tilting mirrors, think about whether or not you need a truck vs a car.
