Traded in my 08 TL-S
Well, I hated to do it but I traded in my 08 WDP TL-S 5AT. She had 37K miles on her odo. I'll miss her. ![Bawling](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/bawling.gif)
Flash back about 6 months. Our 96 Voyager minivan gave up the ghost. She was good while she lasted. Since then we've been getting by with only the TL-S. But it was a pain. If the wife needed the car, she had to come into work with me and pick me up that afternoon. I might add, work starts at 7am and she hated getting up so early.![Annoyed](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/annoyed.gif)
My wife is on vacation visiting her family for a few weeks. So this gave me time to car shop. She gets home the day before her birthday. I wanted this to be a surprise for her. Her favorite car model is the Corvette. I couldn't afford that but she also likes the 350Z (so do I). So I found a used 350Z in excellent condition for her. Her name starts with the letter "Z" and her nick name is "Z". So I thougt this would be the perfect car and gift for her. I plan to put a Z front license plate and the dealership is looking for a big bow to wrap it in. The car will be in the garage. I have to pick her up at the airport. When we get back, I'll just open the garage and watch the expression on her face.
Can't wait!
I also picked up the 2nd vehicle for myself. It's a Honda CR-V. Had to be practical with this one. We do a bit of yard work and such, so need the CR-V to haul things in. No way your going to haul much in a 350Z. The CR-V is pretty nice and has a few bells and whistles.
Of course I'll still hang around here, as my heart is still in Acura's. Perhaps one day I'll be able to get another one.

Hey, congratulations on the new car. I'm sure you'll constantly still be on the forum. I had to do the same thing last year when we finally realized have 2 sedans and a 2 year old was really hard. So I sold my '98 3.2TL and bought my wife an '09 Pilot Touring 4X4 with rear DVD for Christmas. She was really excited about it and my son loves being able to watch all his favorite movies from the backseat.
But I do miss my '98. She was the last model 100% made in Japan with 186K miles and still running strong. This was the first vehicle I purchased out of college and it meant a lot to me. But at least I still have my '05 TL A-spec. Driving her everyday really is a joy.

Nice Mike! I can't wait to see the car!
Does the CRV have navi and leather? I'd love to have a CRV. Post pics when you get a chance.
You know what you should do is to put a video camera in the garage as the door opens to see her face, and then post it!

I have a NBP TL-S with similar miles...just curious what they gave you for it? You can PM me if you want. Congrats on the buy! Did you do something wrong to make this up for the wife?!
Mine's got an 04 Civic and I hope to soon surprise her with an MDX or RDX. Good luck with the surprise. What color is the Z, pics?

First of all, thanks for the encouragement. Sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do. Well, to anwser a few questions:
The Z is silver (hard top).
CR-V doesn't have leather or navi. I'll have to pick up a portable Navi.
Can't take pics yet sense the wife has the camera......![Why Me](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/whyme.gif)
Oh, I got 27K for the TL-S. I paid 32K when I bought it new in April 08.
The funny thing is, it just hit me, I bought the TL-S for me on my birthday and now I got rid of it for hers......

Bummer. Hopefully the wife shows her appreciation. ![Wink](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I wouldn't worry about the non-navi in the CRV. Personally, I don't know if I'd get a car with factory navi again. It's nice to have, but it's overpriced and if something goes wrong with it out of warranty you are looking at a fortune to fix it. Seems like a smarter move to get a non-navi car and just by a Garmin or something similar.

Sorry to see the TL-S go. I know you said you couldnt afford it but if your all about the letter "Z" you should have got her a Z06 ;-) Now that would have been sweet! I miss my 03 Z06, but the next toy on my list is for sure a C6 Z06 when I get the TL-S paid down a little more.
Goodluck with the new cars!!

why did you have to get rid of the TL? was the payment to much with another car? would the TL and the Z together have killed your wallet?
Congrats on making the wife Uber happy...I bet it makes her friends jealous as ever..lol

Wish I would have known, I've got a Vette that I would have sold you. You will like the CR-V, my wife drives an '04EX and it's extremely reliable and efficient. I am over 6' tall so I would kill for a couple extra inches of leg room but the '06 has more than the '04. You should get many trouble free miles form the CR-V.

You should have some fun with your wife first
. get a little bow and a tag with her name on it, and put it on the minivan when you pick her up at the airport, tell her surprise! look what i got you honey, a minivan! So she'll pretend to be thrilled, while probably being only mildly pleased. Then, when you get home, ask her if she really likes it, of course she'll say yes, then you can tell her 'good! in that case, i'm taking back your backup present, at which point you open the garage door with the Z with the big bow and big name tag

2008 Acura TL Type-S
Mad props to you for doing that for your wife!
In my case, my wife's dream car was the KBP TL-S. So it was a no-brainer to trade the mini-van for it.
Enjoy your "new" vehicles!
