Trade TL for CTS-V? $5000 on top?
My cousin was buying a Odyessy Touring at this dealership; the sales person approached me and said we have a CTS-V for YOU! just came in; Navi, black on black with 49k. He said he would give 13k for my car and i pay another $4500 on top. What do you guys thinK? 4 door vette (=

CTS-V is a baddass car, I would probably do it. All of my previous cars have been RWD up until the TL. Right now I really miss RWD and power, both of which the CTS-V has.
Have you seen the 09? Holy shit that thing is a beast!

I would think heavily on that. I mean yeah ur tl is an 04 but what year is the caddy also did you check what insurance would be and have u been watching whats going on with GM. I mean think long term on the car and whats happening withh GM cause as the company is having major problems last night the news was saying that the government might just take over gm and all services. I'm not saying i know a whole lot on the issue but I bet you don't want to deal with the government when it comes to your car and servicing it.
Also I think with the way the market is you can haggle the dealer down to a straight trade. Cause the resale of imports is way greater then domestics. That dealer is gonna sell ur car quicker thenthat CT-V that's for sure.

What year? 2004 6 speed 400HP? If it's in great condition not a bad deal for $4500 and your car considering the Caddy was around $50K list. Just got to look it over very closely as an "old school teacher" certainly wasn't the previous owner.
Your Acura is certainly more likely to move faster than the Caddy, so there is a motive behind the deal.

I just don't get the appeal of the CTS or the more muscled V variant. If one wants a really fast American car, why not just get a Camaro or Mustang? The CTS will lose so much on resale. One is better getting a cheaper American muscle car.

That said, I'd check on the durability of the CTS-V before trading for one. The early CTS V6 cars were not particularly reliable, but the later ones were better.
BTW, 49K miles = check out the car, suspension and supercharger thoroughly (or have them checked) before buying.

The thing is; I don't want to make the same mistake with my old CL...after the supercharger and all the junk i could of bought myself a brand new Type-S.
I was planning to buy a OEM NAVI setup on ebay for my car and a Supercharger for my car now..thats already $5k +/- and ALSO >>>
1.) might cause headaches like old car
2.) tranny might blow
3.) CTS-V still faster and more torque hands down...
lol I don't know, but i gotta sleep on this b4 the car gets sold quick.
I'm not too concerned about GM going bankrupt, they still have to make parts for their cars 8 more years...

Same reason one buys an M3 or M5 instead of a 3-coupe or 6-series: fast 4-door lux-sport sedan with much nicer interior, more features and pedigree than a ponycar or even a 'vette or GTO/G8.

and who the fuck would buy a mustang or camaro? those = pure shit quality cars
Seroiusly though what year is that CTSV and I'd definitely get the carfax report for it. For THAT car, the price seems kinda low...

I adore the new gen CTS-V, much more refined than the last gen. I drove a friend's '06 CTS-V and it's fast...but pretty crude. Tons of axle hop, balky shifter, crap interior. But the '09 is fantastic....very nice.
Not sure that I'd trade AND fork out more cash for a previous gen CTS-V.

Full of water...
i sat in a regular CTS just a few weeks ago and i thought that it had some of the least comfortable seats ever. they look awesome, but they were designed for a 300lb 50 year old who is made of jello. every surface was convex and totally didnt fit a "normal" human form. plus, i would need to be twice as wide to not slide from side to side. i like how they look, but not sure i could ever get one. best of luck though, sounds you got a great deal
