Towing the TL with a U-Haul

Hi,

I'll be leaving college in a few weeks and have a lot of stuff to bring home. Since everything won't fit in the TL, I'll need to rent a van/truck. I was thinking about renting a U-Haul truck and trailer to tow the TL, one that looks like this....

Has anyone ever used something like this before? Does it seem like a relatively safe idea? Is there anything that I should be aware of before my move? I appreciate any insight. Thanks!

As long as you get one that looks fairly new/well kept you should be fine. I've towed a 1970 Cutlass behind a suburban on one of those and i had no problems whatsoever....

Do those trailers have brakes on them?

I'm fairly certain the U-haul trailers have surge brakes, meaning the action of the tow vehicle slowing down applies the brakes to the trailer. No special hookups are required, only electrical for lights.

If you were involved in an accident your insurance would still cover it right?
