Touch-up paint for window borders?

Wondering if anyone has ever touched up the "border" around the windows on a 3G TL?

I have a Silver '05, and between the front and rear doors (on each side) there is a very glossy black border, approx 3 inches on each door. I accidentally took a razor blade to one of them, putting a very light 5 inch scratch, vertically.

My friend got a good laugh, as it was the day after I got my car (I was using the razor to get the old inspection sticker off the windshield).

Anyone have to do touch-up on this "border"? Regular black touch-up paint?

Thanks!

Never heard of painting them, but you can buy replacements from Acura. You can also get aftermarket units in chrome or carbon fiber.

Thanks. Any idea what they're called, so I can accurately search for replacements?

and here:

I found them by searching the site for Front/rear door--Exterior Trim---Applique.

If you do decide to replace them, try peeling off the black plastic covering on it and see how you like it. The TSX guys have a chrome finish underneath the plastic, maybe the TL is the same

Great idea. If I decide to replace it, I will peel the black off first to test your theory.

Any idea on where to get the carbon fiber ones? I've been needing to replace mine for a while and kept forgetting to post a thread on here about it...good job op!

Zoo: yeah he is...and he trolls AZ, so if you're reading this JV, FU!

218: Thats what I did yesterday. I'd call it "less noticeable" than a scratch, but still visible.
