Hello Acurazine!

Haven't been active on the forums... ever, mainly lurked and bought/sold some items, but thought I'd give a goodbye! Thanks to all of those who posted so many DIYs and what not to get me to love the TL. With that said, my car was hit a couple weeks ago while parked on a busy street. The suspect ran and was never found, so no luck for me with justice.

On Monday of this week my TL was deemed totaled with only 50,000 miles. I had damage to my wheel, hub, door, quarter panel and inner quarter panel. When the inner quarter panel is damaged, the roof pillars and pretty much everything under the skin has to be replaced so that pushed the threshold for the insurance. Luckily, since my car had low miles for a 2007, I am able to have quite a bit down for a new car. I have a 2016 WRX on hold and if it passes my inspection tonight I am going to buy it.

Now, I only have a few pictures with me right now, but here is the damage! Sorry for the crappy quality, it was around 10:00 PM that I took these and was in between dealing with the police, insurance and tow company.

It does not. I was visiting a friend at her new apartment . At my place, I am on the third floor, heated with a concrete wall on one side so I only have my neighbor parked on the other side.

I also bike/walk to work so the car doesn't move much from inside during the week days!

Glad you or anyone else wasn't in the car when that happened. People can really suck, should just own up to their mistakes and come forward.

 

Sorry to hear about your car, don't want to be an ass by asking but I was wondering if you sold the car to the insurance agency or just kept it. Also wanted to know if you have any stuff left over you might be willing to sell.

 

3rd gen TL's dropping like flies around here on az... sucks man especially with dumbasses without insurance and just flee the scene

That WRX is pretty sweet though! I guess there is a bit of a silver lining. Hope that a-hole gets what they deserve.

 

Love it! Don't get to "drive" it yet as its recommended that you get to 1,000 miles before going over 4k rpm. But it is still plenty fast enough shifting then.

Thanks! I was the same way until I kept seeing more of them in person. They look sort of goofy stock in pictures. And now that mods have been out for a year on the 15s, they are looking better and better.

One day! I am only at 300 miles on it so I am going to try to enjoy it as much as possible before I let the mod bug get at me.

Yeah, although it was a crappy thing with the TL, it let me get into this one. Unfortunately, the guy who hit me ran and there hasn't been any leads to who did it. Just gotta let the karma train run them over.

Yeah I went with the base because most of the upgrades for the premium weren't of importance to me. A lot was aesthetics that is easily changeable, especially with all the after market stuff that is/will be rolling out for the 15/16 body style. The 18" wheels I would have replaced anyway. In the TL, I almost never used the sunroof along with the heated seats. Everything else (leather, electric seat) I couldn't justify 4k for. So that was my reason for the base.

No worries! Im glad it was a replaceable weather than something that I couldn't.

No a dick at all, thats how you get good deals haha but I already sold my coilovers and RV6-P Strut Bar to a user on here. I only have the wheels left which I am going to fix and sell in a few months.
