I was driving home today, and I saw a black 08/09 Accord(which ever is the new body style, I forgot). I noticed it looked really good... almost 5series like. The accord (4door) is really growing on me... it looks hot... and I think with a little getting used to, the TSX, RL, and possibly the new TL will all look good too.

I was just curious, what was the thought of a 3gen TL when they first game out? Any old schoolers' opinion would be great. I was too young back then to know of these cars, but I know many of you have owned, and still currently own, 2gen TLs who have seen the 3gen come into production.

Any thoughts on how the change was, and what was your opinion on the new body style when it firstcame out?

Personally, I like all the TLs... they look beautiful. 2gen, I'd get that blue color with A-Spec.. 3gen WDP no question.

 

I still remember the day I saw the 3G TL for the first time. It was a WDP and when I saw it, it was an eyebrow raising and jaw dropping moment. I remember at first I didn't what kind of a car it was. Then I realized it was a new Acura of some sort. The first thing I did when I got home that day was go to acura.com. I remember first looking at the TSX on acura.com but I wasn't sure that was the car I had saw earlier that day. That's when I clicked on the TL. I knew instantly that was the car I would one day own! I was 17 at the time and I saw the $35k+ price tag, I thought to myself I am never going to be able to own that car. But nearly two years later, I bought my brand new 2005 NBP! Still love the car till this day. I can't imagine the 4G looking better than my current model! Well see what happens!

I had (and still have) a 2002 TL-S. WDP.

To tell the truth, I don't remember even noticing the 3G when it came out. I had the car that I had and just wasn't looking for anything different.

We'd kicked around the idea of an SUV, but at the end of the day, wanted another sedan. We didn't seriously search until last year and the TL-S was still, IMHO, a great, great value for a sporty family sedan. So, we bought another one.

The '02 is running strong - 6 years, 4 months old and only 66k miles. No problems and the leather had held up really well. But the exterior styling is pretty conservative/plain.

Until the 3G, easily the best car I had ever owned. Overall, stock-for-stock, the 3G is a much better car so far.

 

That's awesome... I guess the TL grew in so smoothly most people didn't even notice any flaws =)

 

I definitely can relate to this since I owned a 2nd TLS. When the 04 TL came out, I thought the new design is It took a while to get use to the look. But the interior was simply But as time went by the exterior started to grow on me especially the ones with the Aspec kit. But to this day, I still think the 2nd Gen TL has better exterior style, but the 3rd Gen is still very hot especially the TLS.

 

When I had my 00TL, and the 3G TLs started to drive around, I've definitely admired the hot shape and interior..I was eager to have one....

Seeing the 4G TSX in person makes me want to barf in it's direction....if the 4G TL will look anything similar to it, my 08TL-S will be hottest whip in Bklyn, lol.
