I got mine up to 139 over thanksgiving when I went to KS to go back home. I should have gotten higher but ran out of road that was good.

I thought it was 155, but either way, been up to 158 indicated in my S2000 and doubt I will ever go that fast again on a public road. Fastest for the TL is about 140 for me so far.

i believe the top speed is 152 (speedo showing 160 due to acura calibration) for the 6 speed and somehwere around 140 for the 5 speed.

I've been to 130, running against a 420 HP RSX! And he was walking away at that speed.

I call bullshit until I see an authetic speeding ticket with the speedgun/radar/lidar reading on it and signed by the officer.

153 ... ndx - is human evidence good enough It was like 4AM on a Monday night. When youre pulling that speed around a slight bend in the highway you dont wanna whip out your cellie and move around the car haha.

I got mine up to 140 one time when some dipsh*t in a Civic SI wanted to race me. I told him he was about 80 HP short, and his response was, "My MT will make up for it"...obviously he's never heard of tiptronic.
I gave him a little headstart, then quickly reeled him in and left him comfortably behind.

I read a review (it was either Car & Driver or Road & Track) that stated the TL comes with a speed limiter factory set at 150.

Car & Driver has 152 MPH, Road & Track and Motor Trend have between 150 and 158 MPH, presumably on a test track. Check the magazines' road test summaries which list that data. There is no speed limiter on the TL.
On SoCal freeways during rush hour, my top speed is about 18 MPH.
Otherwise, on clear public roads, the TL's top speed is much higher than I am capable of driving or willing to drive.

It must be electronically limited though. I brought 5th gear to 144mph adn shifted into 6th gear adn hit 150 going UPHILL and then went down the backside of that hill still doing 150mph. All the cars I have owned though when the governors kick in yuou KNOW IT. The TL gave no indication of haveing a governor besides not speeding up anymjore. I know the car is capable of at least 160. I wonder if there is some sort of reflash or something that could eliminate this... Anyone know??

240km/hr

I hit 240km/hr on a nice straight divided highway over the summer while dusting off a Ford Probe GT that decided to be an ass on the highway. Made like he was gonna pass but instead he just stuck out in the passsing lane about 3 car lengths behind a slow van. Switch to sequential, tap-tap and did a quick pass of him inside then the van outside. He tried to give chase but couldn't do anything. I glanced at speedo and was hittin 240km/hr on flat. He was about 15 cars behind. Sorry to talk about the details but that took be to 240km/hr....then i chilled.

I'd rather wait for a quality car magazine to test the top speed than to get a ticket.

For whatever its worth, the W-rated tires on the '07 are rated at 168 mph. I don't know what tires are fitted on the -06's. The OEM tire selection plays the dominate role in the e-limitations.

Also, I think it takes guts to snap a picture of your gages at that speed. How did you do it?

At 140 there is no ticket. You will be sitting in the back seat of a Crown Victoria

police car.

Incidentally, my TLFourplay friend...

Your 6-month-old wasn't in her carseat in back when you took your 4 pics.

Right?

I have a 4 1/2 year old and no, she is in germany. I was on an open stretch no cars, nothing at all. Was as safe as it would get. I wanted to wait tiull I got to germany in 2 months but heck it was the perfect opportunity. I am crazy but I would never risk the safety of myself or others.

you know at those speeds they will arrest you and you will have to show infront of a judge.
i cant even imagine what i would say to the judge why i was doing 140+. what good, no what reasonable answer is there? i wanted to see how fast my new car can go? i wanted to see if i can make the needle go past the numbers? i needed to find a bathroom?
then again i did take my car out to 120 middle of the nite myself. it is bad and wrong and dangerous. good thing the wifey was passed out. yes it was a straight, and no other cars on the road.

lol what road in NYC has NO cars on it?! I need to find this one! I must be missing out. But anyway, fastest I've gone was 135 on the FL Turnpike (I was following a group of speeders to get to Miami faster lol), when a state trooper FLEW past me doing like 145 -lol- I got to Miami from Orlando in 2.5 hours... supposed to take 4

Amazing, 150 MPH's, no shake in the camera and a perfectly still picture with no hands anywhere in the picture. Photoshop is fun.

Well at least if you got pulled over you would have proof that clearly you were speeding to get to the next gas station before you ran out of gas!

I hate to burst your bubbles but it appears that the Hyundai Sonata can hit at least 147 mph (belive it or not.) Check out this article:

what does that have anything to do with the TL... lmao I'd like to see a Hyundai try to keep up with a TL - that will be the day I sell my car!

that is not a photoshop photo. Dont question my integrity please. Like I said, I took 4 pics, if you would like to see the other three I will post them, they are all blurry and misaligned.

Surprisingly of course the TL floats very nicely at 150, no vibrations, no drifting, nothing craxy. Feels the same at 80 as it does at 150.

Average of 25mpg over 1400 miles at an average speed of 63.............is that typical for you? That is some serious freeway travel and I would expect 32.5 mpg in my 06 with pretty much the same mods as you are running. Do you have the hypervoltage and grounding system?
