Question TL vs TSX navi

I'm talking with my buddy online and he's telling me that the TSX navi is exactly like the TL's navi (even down to the voice activated commands, such as climate control & stereo) is this true???
I thought the TL was suppose to be the only Acura made with those features? :chainsaw:

There might be some subtle differences, but the TSX does have voice activated Nav, and it's an Acura so you wouldn't expect the features to be all that different.

MDX probably has it too.

Here's what Acura's web site says:

TL - >7M POIs, 293 commands
RL - >7M POIs, >130 commands
TSX - >7M POIs, >130 commands
MDX - >8M POIs, 217 commands

I guess the TL's larger command set has to do with the greater complexity of its audio and climate control systems, not so much the Nav capabilities.

Not quite. the TSX has the trip computer on the Navi.. I liked it better that way.

I have a 2004 Accord (almost bought a TL). My guess is the Navigation system is identical to the TL (with the added trip computer feature, minus the TL's extra speaker controls).

The Accord has a lot of voice-activated features ... some that come to memory are .. find nearest restaurant/gas station/etc ... set passenger temperature 72 degrees and other climate control stuff ... go home ... set radio 660 am/etc ... cd changer controls, stuff like that

I think most of new Honda/Acura Navi are pretty much the same. If you look at the menu screen, you'll noticed there are options and next to it is small icon. (i.e. Go home has picture of little house). I first noticed this on Acura MDX last year. If you look at '03 TL and '03 RL, the menu layout is a little different and they do have have icons next to the description.

Even split screen with detailed road layout looks the same whether it be TL, MDX, or 04 Accord. However, I did notice a little graphic difference on TSX. I saw this on the brochure, so TSX too might look identical to TL now...

Why does the MDX have a million more POI's? Does it use a different DVD?

It's because SUV's get lousy gas mileage. They need to know where EVERY gas station is.

(Sorry, couldn't resisit.)
