TL vs TSX.........a clear winner!

Today I had to turn in my TL to get the allignment adjusted, it was pulling to the right after I put on the 18" ASPEC Rims a couple of weeks ago. Anyways I went in and they didnt have any TL's available for loaners so they gave me the choice of a RSX, or a TSX, so I took the TSX since I have never driven it before, and I was on my way. Sorry to all you TSX lovers out there, Im sure you love your cars, and Im sure they are awsome cars in your eyes, but it just didnt do it for me, at all. My main complaint is it is just to small, the interior made me feel like a giant, and Im only 6 ft tall. The rest of the car is ok, but after driving my TL's for the last few years, there is no way I could ever go to a smaller car. Should have my ride back in a few hours, told them to fix it and call me, dont wash it, thats another bad experience I had.

The TSX really is a good little car, but it's no TL past or present. It just isn't, period.

They also do a nice job of leaving scratches and swirl marks, too. If you go through auto car wash all the time, then it's really no big deal - take the free wash, but if you wash your car yourself, thus are anal about it, then don't. I had my brother wax my car yesterday, with 3M Liquid Wax, and even though it's my first coat, it looks amaaaazing!

Anyway, the TSX is an awesome car in its segment. There's really no "winner" or "loser" here...
I bet this thread'll be locked before TSX guys start coming in... hehe

I'll never let another car dealer wash my car again after my experience with Fountain Acura in Orlando. There were obvious swirl marks when they finished. They didn't clean the wheels either.

My dads friend has a TSX and my dad, knowing it is 7-8k cheaper than the TL, told my mom he wants that instead(he cheap, my mom asked me, I said, are you kidding, its junk COMPARED to the TL, so as of now we order the TL in the next few weeks, I am so excited. OK, that is kinda a run on, sorry.

Wow pal.. u got balls saying that.. As I read some of your previous posts, the TSX is way superior to the JUNK that your gonna be getting.. an old school Teg or a Turaus???

I speak from both sides as my family owns both a TSX and a TL. The two are very distinctively different cars. There are things about the TSX that I wish the TL had and vice versa. The engine in the TL is to die for but the handling in the TSX makes the TL look like a boat. I like the headlights in the TSX better than the TL because when I look at them next to eachother, they are very different colors. The TSX is more blue whereas the TL is lighter. I prefer the fact that the TSX is made in Japan but that isn't much of an issue to some. I wish the TSX had the LED tails like the TL and the DVD-A stereo but I can't have everything.

This topic has been beaten to the ground. I love my TSX and my dads TL. They are superb cars and neither one is better than the other.

I agree that two are very distinctively different cars. But I disagree on the handling. TSX = more nimble but NO way TSX make TL look like a boat.

talking about my 6mt of course!

also our headlights rock!

I got it from a local auto parts store (Murray's). I've had mine for a little under 3 months now, and I've only been using spray-on wax, but finally got around to tracking my brother down to wax my car.

Sclass88 - just ignore crazymjb's ignorant posts. He think his dad's POS taurus is better than the new Sonata. Every car that's a little inferior to the TL is a junk to him Too bad, he hasn't even driven the TL or the TSX to see the handling difference, as well as the overall feel of the cars.

When i went to a show room (where i got my car), there were 5 cars in the room: MDX, TSX A-Spec, RSX Type-S, TL A-Spec (my car), and RL. I have to say i think the TSX looks very nice but i think thats where the similarity between TL and TSX stops. The hp diff is significant and the 1/4 mile and 0-60 times are also much different. BTW, u got lucky man. I got some beat up accord and a beat up integra for my loaner. I guess my dealership just sucks ass (and they do). HOpe ur dealership fixes up ur car.

funny to see this post because i came here to post about the TSX. Ofcourse I am a happy (most of the time) TL owner - so I dropped it off for repairs - horn replacement, rattling from driver's side hand holder, and the roof lining is starting to come off - they did a piss poor job of fixing this because its still coming off!.

Anyway, so I got the TSX as my loaner - this was the 3rd time I had the TSX as a loaner and I don't know why, but I enjoyed it SO much!!!! You cannot compare the TL with the TSX, they are completely different cars.

But I will tell you, I was kinda sad when I had to give it back. It was SO much fun to drive!!! It handles curves and anything you throw at it so nicely. The suspension and steering are so tightly tuned, I would seriously consider getting this as a fun car.

I wish the TL was a little more sportier like this, its too soft for me. TSX is a great car for its market!!

U do know that the bluish color is worse light output right? As the kelvin or the temp of the xenon bulbs decrease, the better or brighther the bulbs are... Just to let you know. Im more about the visibililty rather than coolness

NIce... careful with those rims bc if u even hit a curve slightly, the rims will get the damage (not the tires). Thats just how the rims are designed... Mine are scuffed a bit

The TSX loaners I had (1 for a week, 1 for two weeks) were fun to drive, but always made me wish for more power.

I wasn't impressed with the interior or powerplant in the TSX loaner I drove. It was also very loud in the cabin.

Like plastikman, I also felt like the car was just too small for me (6'3"/200lber).

Only thing I liked was the fact the 1-2 shift wasn't automatic.

What I do before droping off my car to get serviced I wash it, and I tell them not to wash it..... About the TSX, it a great small car that I would definetly choose over other cars in the same class. As for the TL I love it just the way it is......

U have gunmetal rims? Do they make the aspec rims in black? I believe they are all alloys...

I meant the overall system, but then again you are talking about an 8k priced difference along with a completely different engine. I admit I overdid it when I said junk, but they aren't really in the same class. Yes, the TSX is an awsome car in comparison to my fathers taurus and/or a used integra. As far as the personal attack from NDX2, my appropriate response is, the POS taurus is better because its American, mainly(overall ford has a much better record than hyuandai).

Take it as a "personal attack" if you want. Most of your posts are f'ing anyway - like your replies in this thread. And your "appropriate response" is not so appropriate. There's no way you, or anyone for that matter, can justify the POS Taurus being better than the new Sonata, just like your can't justify calling the TSX junk.

Ok, back to ignoring your posts like I've been doing so well. Go nuts with your posts, buddy.

A-Spec huh - the steering and the suspension become sportier I guess. But I have a lease, no way I am putting money into this car.

No, they were done somewhere else, or upon special request. If you have the aspec rims you should be able to get them powder coated or painted at a good paint shop.

I read the thread and the argument between you and ndx2, and in my unbiased opinion, you went overboard. You are biased, blinded, and swayed by generalizations. You're 15; I hate judging people based on their age, but in this case, the generalization is true. You think you know everything, but you don't. You fail to give credit where credit is due.

You may call these cars junk, especially in the case of Hyundai, but you fail to realize that Hyundai, like most other car companies operating in the U.S., start off with cheap affordable cars and move up. GM recently made a public announcement that they recognize the growing threat from Hyundai, and that they are taking the playbook of the Japanese car companies and doing it ten times faster. You are so fascinated and obsessed with the new TL, but look at the company history. Honda came to the U.S. shores first selling cheap affordable economy cars and started moving up, eventually launching the Acura division. Now look at Hyundai -- already one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, and already preparing to launch a premium division in the U.S. In the next decade, there's no telling where Hyundai will be.

As for calling the TSX junk... you put in relative terms, yes, but it was going overboard. Again, you fail to give credit where credit is due. You claim that you know so much about cars because you're taking automotive classes in school (I've taken high school automotive classes... are you joking me? ) blah blah blah. Don't even try to act like you're some car guru and talk shit about certain brands based on your prejudices, or talk others down because you think you know more about cars. I've done all kinds of car works from body work to engine swaps; I don't brag about it. Instead, I try to help others as far and much as my knowledge will allow. I've run into my share of people like you with that mentality and it disgusts me. I've mostly been ignoring your posts in the past, but you are really getting on my last nerve.

Oh, by the way, I have yet to seen you offer any technical advice. Most of the stuff I've seen you mention and brag about is information readily available in car magazines and/or easily accessible online. So stop acting like you're some car genius, and stop talking shit. Honestly, who the hell cares what cars your parents are getting? I won't go so far as to say come back and talk to me when you can drive; because I've met younger guys who knew their shit and I respect that. But I'll tell you one thing, though -- you're definitely not one of them.

My dealer let me take a TSX auto Navi on a spin alone for about 50 miles. It had a nice interior and a pretty solid feel. However, I would spend the extra money on a TL. After driving a TL-S and 3rd gen for so long, the power in the TSX was too weak for me.

Side note: I also took out an 05 RSX-S on a spin alone, and let me tell you, it was the most solid Acura I've driven. I was very impressed. The handling, shifter, and steering feel was awesome.

I agree way too small i hate the gauges and the console but then again the TSX loner i had was non nav and my TL is navi

In Canada, TSX and TL are about 5k-6k difference. Which made me to shift towards a TL. No one ever talked to me about TL being made in America. I think most of people out there believes TL is built in Japan.

I test drove both when I was shopping. TSX accelerated acceptable on highway ramp with me and salesperson init. I knew I wasn't going to be seen as a corvette merging on a ramp in that TSX. With extra passenger, I wouldn't have confidence of merging over oncoming traffic. I had V6 mustang (190hp but 3.8L engine) before and it was "okay" on ramp with 3 people thanks to bigger engine.
