Not only a base '07 TL Type S has 286HP, 26HP more than the '03 TL Type S, which has 260, and that 260 is more like 246 according the new SAE standards.

So it's like a 40HP difference he has to make up for.

But your Type S weighs around 200lbs less. 3450 to 3650.

Kevin, how do you get owned by a 6M/T TL-S and keep up with a 5A/T TL-S? Obviously the dude in the 5A/T must be short shifting.

u gotta keep in mind that i had a 140lb kid in my car and the 07 also has one mod over me since my "exhaust" (aka comptech mufflers cause i havent put in my full catback) dont do jackshit

When i put headers on my 2nd GEN CL-S (I/H) it made a world of difference. Comptech claims 24-30 whp and you can really feel the difference. I felt the difference the most after taking them out of my car when i had to sell it. My CL-S turned into a pig.
The Procats on the TL-S dont help much at all, since the 07 TL-S already has High flowing Cats from the factory.
You said you ran him 4 more times and you destroyed him, you even pulled 4 cars on him. That tells us something about the driver on the 07 TL-S...

Not sure about comptech headers, and headers+intake, but XS power headers alone would gain 8-15whp on J series engines.

If he knows how to shift at redline then how did you pull 4 cars on him 4 different times?

Just a thought

2 times he fucked up the launch since hes inexpirienced thats understandable, the other 2 30 rolls he bounced off the rev limiter in 1st and possibly 2nd givin me enough time to pull away. Thats why we did it so many times cause i could hear him bouncin it. so i knew he was tryin to get it as close as he could to redline

to put u guys at ease ill drive his car and ill have an expirienced 2nd gen driver drive my car and we'll see the outcome

It's not that I don't believe you, it's that I don't believe you were blow away by a 6M/T TL-S by four cars and then you beat a 5A/T TL-S by 2 cars. That would be the difference between the 6M/T and 5A/T is like night and day.

dude ur tellin me i was shocked when the stock 6mt pulled that hard on me. i know the owner of the 6mt and i had my boy that has an aspec in my car. given that i had an additional 200lbs in my car at that time shouldnt make that big a difference.

he got into an accident a few weeks after when a suv ran a red light. he just got his car and it hasnt been the same. We raced from a slow roll and we were neck and neck till the top of 3rd when he started pulling. All 3 of can admit that the car is not the same.

2nd GENS can be pretty mean when gate shifting at 7200 rpm. They land right when vtec starts next gear. I can say that from experience.

Lightweight wheels is where you would see the biggest benefit, that's what I'm doing. Saving up for some 16lbs wheels. Should save me 34lbs all around, and that's to the wheels. They say reducing one pound to the wheels is like three pounds of static weight, or weight thats on the car itself.

my rims wrigh 30lbs each but im not Giving them up :P I want Luxury and Speed at the same time, thats why i never thought of buying STis or Evolutions. + Automic is all the way for NYC daily Driving. IF i would do weight Reduction, Def consider LightWeight Battery, SpareTire Removal and i guess thats it.

And if you were rich enough, a full painted carbon fiber body. It would drop around 150lbs.
