Then, whenever you can, give me a heads-up. To the track events I've been, I am always the only TL. It would be really cool to have photos and video of CL/TL at the track.

___no offense, but the speculation needs to stop... as i`ve said before, i own a 6mt and my crew member owns an RSX-S... we`ve raced many times with each others cars (although we all basically live at the track, it filters out driver error...) and beyond everyones farthest imagination ... the TL was always the winner at the end...

DISCLAIMER :::::::::::::::: IT WAS CLOSE EVERYTIME!!! THERE WERE NO ABSOLUTE BLOWOUTS!!!

___test results can vary, instead of trying to prove what`s written down, set up some run`s and make sure to switch drivers...
my car has over 14,000mi and the RSX-S has around 12,000mi, for those who need exact details... and as expected, everything after the approx. 1/4mi mark only lengthened the distance between us...

___the aftermarket performance availability is so one-sided in favor of the RSX-S, DO WE REALLY NEED TO EXPLOIT THAT???... 3g owners are already disappointed enough ...

that`s why i own a turbo 2-seater...

All I was saying is if you're not going to believe magazine calculations because you don't trust them, to which are you completely entitled, I'm surely not going to trust yours. As I said before, I trust the people who experience the race first-hand time and time again. So like Tizo said earlier, let's end all this speculation (which I know I also took part in seeing as I don't have a 3rd gen) and listen to the people who have actually raced...

After reading this thread, Ive decided to post a few of my personal comments. No flamming

I do believe in magazine racing. The reason is because they are professionls and they do tend to shift faster than regular drivers. Also, magazines, they either take the best time or they take the average.

However, few drivers tend to get better times because either they pass the redline, powershift, or lower the tire pressure. All not allowed in performance testing. Also, taking in mind, not all magazine tests the cars in the same state. Here in Irvine California, Road and Track are stuck with 91 octance gas which will reduce performance by a few tenth.

Back to the subject of 3rd gen TL.
I believe:
3rd Gen TL auto=05 rsx type s>04 rsx type s but 3rd gen is great when passing triple digits
3rd Gen TL stick>05 rsx type s

I don't know about that............................... From what I know(maybe its just my car) the higher the octane the better the performance.

i think that's what he was implying... Being stuck with 91 octane as the "premium" gas, whereas here it`s 93 octane... i use 110 octane on track and dyno days...

Of course you CAN beat an RSX-S, just like I CAN beat a Ferrari in a Yugo if the other driver is that bad.

With two drivers of equal skill, the RSX-S will win.

You guys are clowns, do you have any real world experience to speak of?

Nope you dont.

Until you drive a TL against a well driven Rsx-s, shut your mugs.

Going to the track 3 times a week and watching them run isn't enough "real world experience" for you?

so enlighten me, what are they averaging? (I'll tell you 14.8-15.2@92-93)

make sure you're consistant with what their community does.

edit: Of course there are outliers, we're talking averages.

Excuse me?

I HAVE driven a 2004 TL 6 speed against an RSX-S. I've driven several RSX-S myself. I also happen to know a little about power to weight ratios, gear ratios.. etc. I have discussed many subjects with Honda engineers, mechanics, owners and respected members of this board who know what they are talking about.

Any more lip from you disrespecting me or anyone else in this board and your ass is grass. Got it?

lol what a queer. rsx-s runs more like 14.2-14.5 average..you're referring to the older rsx-s with those times..i wouldnt be surprised if one hit 14 flat easy. we're not saying the TL can't hold its own, i know it can. but like i said GIVEN EQUAL DRIVERS your big ass boat can't win. i dunno how to make it any more clear

They aren't that quick. Mid 14s around 96 MPH is average. Just like the 3rd Gen TL 6MT

That's funny, go do a search on clubrsx.com and you'll see that a 14.6 out of an '05 is considered RARE. (at least on a quick search).

I dont know about the news ones but i raced a 02 RSX-S with my mom's 04' TL (auto) and my mom's car was definitly faster.

and i dont think 10 extra hp (05' model) would make much difference...

10 PEAK horsepower, area under the curve is greatly increased. The new final drive ratio also helps!

I had a run in with a moderator because I didnt agree with his "real estate" market formula. It was a joke, and you obviously cant deal with this being the internet.

The best part is after he threatened me I went to Astroboy who LAUGHED at his threat and his formula. This is a website, with that comes disagreements, I'm sorry you can't handle the fact that some people disagree with you. You may not like how I disagree with you, but that doesnt mean you right to flex your e-muscle. (Although after seeing your mug on myspace I see why you have to be an e-thug.)

The truth is I like this community and enjoy most of the mechanical/technological aspect. I will rejoin if banned again because there are valuable things to pass on and to learn. I've already helped people with car covers, aspec installs, etc. I may talk it up in here, but I've already done my fair share of helping the community.

Now if you can't handle my knee pads comment, ban me again. I'll rejoin and just continue to try to help. If you can be a MAN and not wimper, deal with my racing stories antics.
